Very relatable addiction. Nice series as well btw! However, healing up your entire team isnt always necessary because chances are you will still have enough pokemon to make it past a few waves. Idk tho cuz this challenge could be different.

Interesting to watch after having done it myself. We only had 1 single pokemon in common for the runs. My start started with Squirtle, Wimpod and Mareanie (with HA). Where squirtle was my main sweeper. After that I just picked up random water types that I discarded later. I didnt want to use Gyarados as I have already done 2 different classic mode completions with it so I threw it out later. Managed to pick up a Basculin which evolved to Basculegion which was just there mostly to counter the regional bird my rival had as basculegion gets a strong rock type move as well as just getting coverage. Didnt want to loose to a random normal/fighting type somewhere along the run. Then found a Pelliper with drizzle to set up rain. And thats about it. Never really even used the rain boost in any important fights. Not that any of my pokemon rolled abilities that benefits from rain anyway. And lastly had an Azumaril to be a wall. It ultimately did not really so anything noteworthy AT ALL. But it was fodder to wittle down Ivy's rayquaza after getting it poisoned on floor 195. Its fairy typing forced rayquaza to use fly so it stalled it a bit more. Didnt even need to use its typing for safe switches during the run. The main carry for me was definitely Blastoise with shell smash but Toxapex was also quite the MVP, clutching both the floor 145 fight and 195 fight as the sole survivor while Golisopod was quite a fine secondary win condition, picking up important kills in the elite 4 fights as well as weakining Rayquaza and tanking eternatus' second fase.

In terms of water starters in this game, I honestly think froakie in the best after you hatch one or two froakie eggs. Battle Bond greninja clears mostly everything with water shuriken. Oh and there's adaptability as a passive if you take the time to grind 40 candies

Yo Keegan, if you still play pokerogue and want a solid classic run carry, adamant quaquaval with moxie + passive opportunist (not required but smoother), with moves triple axel, thunderous kick (both egg moves), and aqua step and aqua cutter as level up moves. Shiny is always nice, but not required. It has carried me through so many runs it is unbelievable

In the first battle, I think your rival has the Pokemon which is weak to the pokemon you have out in the starter trio So a grass starter makes the rival have a water starter of said generation

With the first Misty fight, I think that’s a problem with Pokerogue’s ai, since I’ve had battles like that where they’ll switch way too much and one Pokémon sets up and sweeps.
