Hi! I also used to bite my nails a LOT and idk if u wanna try quitting (I was so insecure abt my hands and I felt very un-feminine so for me I really wanted to) but it took me years to finally stop. What worked for me is making my new ‘obsession’ taking care of my nails. So I would bring like a nail file w me everywhere if I felt like biting to remind me of why I was quitting (and so when I got like a little hook in my nail I could easily get rid of it without biting bc it bothers me soo much) and every night I would use different oils and stuff and push my cuticles back/cut excess off with small scissors and make them look as neat as possible. It’s hard for the first few days (maybe weeks too) but once they get stronger, longer and healthier you don’t even want to bite them to mess all your progress up (plus my nails are now thicker and stronger so biting is harder for me to do) I hope this helped! I believe you can do it because I didn’t believe in myself and look where I’m at! Edit: I use oils every night but I don’t push and cut my cuticles every night!! Only when I think it’s necessary which for me is like max once every 2 weeks (I don’t think cutting it every day is good but idk)
@erika_77772 жыл бұрын
I carry a glass nail file (mine has a plastic cover to protect it) and small nail clippers for the same reason. I'll pick if there's a hangnail or a crack, etc, if I don't have a way to cut or file them. Also, just using a little bit of lotion or oil once a day (or even most days, it's ok to forget sometimes) will go a really long way. There's all kinds of oils that are applied in different ways. I like the brush on kind because they're less oily, less messy, easy to apply, easy to carry in your purse, and you can still use your hands after (unlike the roll on kind or the kind that come in nail polish style bottles). And if you want to paint them, but don't want to touch them up all the time, go for light colors. Skin tones, creams, and pinks are least noticeable when they start peeling (and less noticeable if you get some on your skin). Get one or two nice quality polishes and a good top coat.

My brother did the exact same thing with our house! He sat down in every room as he was making it and added every detail he could, adding clutter everywhere but still making it functional. When he casted it to our tv, we were all super impressed but also mildly uncomfortable with how accurately he was able to reconstruct our house in the game lmao. When he got to the room we were in while watching, that definitely freaked us out the most. Everything matched. It was almost uncanny valley just because the game’s style is more on the cartoonish side. His build did come in handy when I wanted to paint my room and refurnish it though. It also came it handy when my dad wanted to redo the bathroom lmao

I wish the socially awkward trait would make it so sims get negative mood let’s about socially interacting or going to events instead of making them just have a bad relationship with everyone. Because at least in my experience, no one had ever hated me because I’m socially awkward and I’ve always had lots of friends. I just get like really anxious that I’m gonna mess things up and I do sometimes mess up what I’m saying but that doesn’t lead the other person to like me less. So I think it would be cool if they just got uncomfortable or nervous in social situations. I enjoy going to parties but you can bet at the same time I am very uncomfortable and internally freaking out about how to interact with people. And maybe they could of also made it so when social interactions fail that the sim gets sad or embarrassed.

tip for anyone else wanting to make themself: take a front facing photo and a side profile and switch between them when needing reference. also take advantage of dragging parts of the body instead of using presets i managed to make a pretty accurate sim self by doing this :)
@twobats2 жыл бұрын
I'm a digital artist and honestly, I spend 90% of my time ingame in CAS. I love making sims of fictional characters specifically, and if they're from something live action or have a real person's face attached to their image, I find as many references from different angles of the person's face as I can! I have folders on my phone full of headshots and screenshots of people I've made sims out of, easily a dozen photos of the face and several of their full bodies per person! On top of that, my Simself is my favorite sim to play with. It's like a little personalized dress-up doll, in a way. I'll make little tweaks to them over time to make them look more like how I look in the moment (dyed hair, haircut, gained or lost weight, etc) and it's kinda helped me with some body issues! My Simself isn't a 100% accurate depiction of me irl, but it's really close, so seeing them be confident in clothes I don't wear or things like that make me think better of myself :)

@rachelcookie3212 жыл бұрын
That’s true, the sims make the faces symmetrical. Everything you do on one side is applied to the other side too. But in real most people have asymmetrical faces so that might be a reason lots of people’s simself looks weird. There’s a filter on like tiktok or Instagram or something which will take one side of your face and apply it mirrored to the other side so it makes your face look symmetrical and you can tap to change which side of the face it’s replicating. On most people the filter looks really weird because they just don’t have symmetrical faces. I’ve also heard that apparently slight asymmetry is considered more beautiful than symmetry because if someone has a symmetrical face that looks really perfect, our brains find it unnatural and too perfect. It would be nice if there was a button you could press to switch off the symmetry in the sims and then you could edit the two halves independently. Hopefully they add that in the sims 5.

I have anxiety too and the gameplay for the high maintenance trait is so fitting, also the sim looked really good

I always struggle at making a sim based on a person/character. Seriously, I've even tried to make some of the sims from trailers that weren't put up on the gallery later and I *failed* at making a sim in The Sims. With the Party Outfit option, I usually have two outfits, one a little dressier and one more casual. Sometimes, I also have a costume one, because it amuses me.

Yeah I recently picked the high maintenance trait for like a snobby wellness focused sim and in game play it seemed it present WAY more like anxiety to me than what I expected.

I struggle to create celebrity sims, it is really hard to do real people well , especially on a console. You did a great job! I’m such a coward I refuse to sim myself, I’m just not ready for that level of honesty

I have trouble making a simself because my body type legit cannot be achieved in CAS without mods, I'm fat but all fat Sims seem to have really wide hips and skinny arms and I just..do not

does anyone else find that they can make like friends and family in the sims really well but when it comes to actually making yourself it’s impossible?:’)

i’m the opposite! i’m really bad at building houses but i could spend hours in CAS and never get tired of it the only problem i have is i hate making sims in front of other people because i look a bit ridiculous changing every single tiny detail even tho it doesn’t matter that much hahaha

I love cas, it’s 100% my favorite part of the game. I’ll spend an hour or more making just two sims but I have to admit, when it comes to making real people in the sims, it’s not my strong suit. Every once-in-a-while, I attempt to make myself in the sims and each time, I give up halfway through and just make what I wish I looked like 😂😭

One of my favorite things about looking at my newborn daughter was staring at her little features and analyzing if they resembled mine or my husband’s. Before that? Couldn’t describe my facial features if I tried.

I appreciate you facing your body insecurities and sharing some more personal stuff in regards to your clothing preferences for this video ❤️ I find it interesting that you exaggerate your insecurities in cas, as I am the opposite and over compensate in the opposite direction for things I don't like about my body, I make my ideal self rather than my reality self.

I too struggling making those really accurate sims, so for my self-sim I just make sure the hair and eye color are close to real life as possible, and then focus on the aesthetic.
