This was such a great representation of what Etsy ads can do for your shop! I am a firm believer in Etsy ads and they often get a bad rep because the results they give aren’t the easiest to measure. Loved this video! 😊

@BrandCreators So Scott at this stage of your shop are you running ads on all of your listings to see what gets traction then cutting the things that don't? Or are you running ads on select winners you know you already have?
@brandcreators Жыл бұрын
We run ads on things that sell well and on new listings. A good chunk of this spend is actually on seasonal stuff we are just launching that isn't even really IN SEASON yet.

How do you get Etsy to spend on the new listings you add? My biggest frustration is that they don't offer an option to have separate campaigns where I can set the budget. Everything is in one campaign so I find Etsy spending most of my budget on one or two listings and when I add a new listing there's no way for me to "force" spending on that listing to see how it performs@@brandcreators

Can you clarify something, I'm a bit confused. I always hear about today daily ad spent, but I have no idea if that covers one listing or 50 listings or all listings for those KWs in a store. I think for a newbie is important to know and understand how many individual listings are falling under the ad that the daily spent is covering. And in your example, how many listings were covered? Thanks.

If you are creating the product (and managing all aspects of getting it to the customer) and paying Etsy for ads to drive traffic to those products, what do you need Esty for? That's basically what you do when you have your own website. The whole point of Etsy is for traffic because anyone can throw up a Wordpress shop on a cheap hosting account that's easy to manage. So if you also have to pay Etsy beyond the listing fee for traffic then you don't need them. It blows my mind that people don't see this.

What you seem to be missing is how the ads are different. Etsy ads are very straightforward and are targeted at people who are already ready to buy. Additionally they drive lift on the organic side, which can't be said for ads outside the platform. Sure, you can put products on Etsy and sell without ads, but if you want to sell more (and sell more faster) you'd give ads a look

@@brandcreators Etsy ads ARE NOT Straight Forward - You Do Not Get to Bid on Clicks - ETSY Will Charge You whatever it wants to for each click and YOU HAVE NO SAY. Interesting point about monitoring your ad spend. In June of this year, my shop was really gaining traction so I tried to fuel the fire with $250 in ad spend a day, but unfortunately, Etsy was burning through that money daily, usually before 2pm even. It was bringing in a lot of visitors and sales, but unfortunately, the ROAS was just too low (0.6 or so) for me to keep it up since I was worried about not recouping any of that. Setting $5 a day has been much safer with my ROAS being about 4.5 now. Definitely will try monitoring with a high budget for Q4

You'll often find a lot of keywords to trim out that will help you keep your spend in check and focused on the words that drive SALES
@clevelandleathermaker29910 ай бұрын
You may want to micromanage the times which you turn on your ads. During the weekdays, I've turned on my ads on after 5pm and turned it off after 10pm, when I expect more of my potential customers will be off work and likely online. I'll however, keep it on all day on the weekends, when my potential customers might have more time online. When my budget was low, it helped so I didn't burn through my daily budget too quickly.

I think it depends on the niche that you’re in and how much your products are for those in the budgeting world like myself it’s not worth the Etsy ads because when I have a printable tracker that’s only costing $1.60 and I’m doing even a dollar a day for ads not only is it not reaching a lot and I know that because it’s such a low Amount for Etsy ad selling, but it also needs to be noted that my products are not high in when it comes to cost

Hey thanks for the video. My only question is how competitive is your niche? And how many people offer roughly the same exact item as you? Im preparing to hop on Etsy as a print shop producing my own items and avoiding dealing with POD companies which gives me a little more profit room, better quality and faster turn arounds.

One sale doesn’t really mean much, I have listings with 16-20 sales and they come in waves, it seems like at times Etsy decides to advertise different listings from my shop and one item starts selling about every day and then stops but in a while it starts selling again. I don’t know why it happens because I advertise my entire shop but Etsy changes the preferences and pushes some items more than others.
@alinahartsfield9759 Жыл бұрын
5452 views are not really views but impressions, your 28 clicks are actual views and they say you will need about 100 clicks per sale, not always works for me this way, I usually get more sales, but that’s what 1% conversion rate is one sale per 100 clicks.

I've never run Etsy ads, so I have a technical question. If I want to spend, let's say 100$ per day and run ads for the whole month, I have to freeze 3000$ upfront, or will they charge me after the campaign and give me a receipt or What does this look like? BTW. I watch all your videos, thanks for what are you doing ;)

It sounds like either there isn't much demand for what you're selling (the fewer people looking for something the fewer ads Etsy has the opportunity to sell) or that your listings are not optimized to reach all of the keywords they could

Honestly, I think the ads are like a scam because those of you. That can pay for ads more than a couple dollars a day. Cause that's where I'm at right now. There's only one page that is possible to show up on 1 page. There's only so many slots and tons of you are paying hundreds a day for your ads. So how in the world would a little person like me? Get my stuff shown even by paying up to $2 a day with ads. I've had a store since October only 16 sales. I think it's all a joke at this point I work 810 hours a day on this. It's my full-time job. Yes, I'm learning from the start, but I really believe especially watching this video of yours. As little ones, we are not even being shown. At sea wants to make the money, so they're gonna get it from those that will pay that much, and that have the ability to pay that much.
@alinahartsfield9759 Жыл бұрын
You are being shown but for different keywords, probably less competitive keywords. I started with $4 a day and I was shown but I didn’t start making any sales or profit until I increased my budget.
@brandcreators Жыл бұрын
Ads are 100% not a scam. First, You would only get charged if somebody clicks on your ad so if your ass never showed you would never be charged anything. Additionally, most people are only spending a few dollars a day on ads (We typically spend between 5 and 10) but wanted to see what would happen if we ran an experiment to allow Etsy to spend as much as possible.
@heavenonthehorizon777 Жыл бұрын
@@brandcreators I didn't mean literally a scam..just what is my 2$ a day gonna do against a 500/1000 a day or more ad spend. There is one front page, like time we all have 24 hrs. There are 24 hours in a day to show on page one but millions of sellers and probably 100 of thousands of those have an AD budget.
@PetruAmortoae Жыл бұрын
@@heavenonthehorizon777 sorry, but the ads are displayed on the search results pages and not on the front page.
