My writing is going fine, I’ve been contacting agents since the beginning of January, and I’ve been declined four times, but I knew that was going to happen. I’ve been working occasionally on my next book that I just love. Everything about the next book is so so good, it’s something that I just keep going back to. Just hoping I will get some good news from an agent soon! Also, congrats on finishing the first draft!!!! P.S. Your Stupid Love dance is way better than my version of it lol 💖

Really love how around the beginning of the video you talked about how you genuinely love editing and adding stuff to your book, but how sometimes you really struggle to get the bones down and the analogy about feeling like there’s no ground underneath you and stuff. I. Felt. That. So. Hard. I have an extremely hard time getting anything down just because I don’t even know where to start and I feel like my brain is just blank and then I freak out and tell myself I’ll never be a writer because I don’t even have any ideas~~~ Hearing you talk about it, though, really made me feel good because you struggle just the same and it gives me hope that one day I’ll get there too. Congrats on finishing the first draft and I hope the second goes well. Don’t overwork yourself!! 😅
@anyawillowfan4 жыл бұрын
I know it's a little late but might be useful for editing/future projects: when dealing with confusing timelines or book structure put all important dates on a board/wall then put each scene you envision and write on to seperate it's so you can move and 'delete' them whenever things change. P.S. love your victory dance, it's well deserved.
@lovefairfox52494 жыл бұрын
Oh wow, Don't let everyone's expectations drag you down. It makes me mad they didn't think you could make it. Like HOW COULD THEY! You are Christine Riccio! When you put your mind and yourself wholely into something, you set the world on fire. You finally had a chance to do that with your book so of course, you made your goal! You are who you make yourself to be. Not anyone's expectations. You just proved what you can accomplish!! You proved it when you got a book published in the first place. The voices will always be there. You just have to be louder!!! LOUDER! Don't let someone else tell you what you can't do. Don't let someone else tell you who you can't be. Don't even listen to me because at the end of the day, it's your voice that should matter the most. Believe in yourself, Christine. You got this.

I guessed 26,000 words, so sorry to have underestimated you. Right now I’m finally excavating an idea that’s been buried in my brain for the past six or so years. And it’s in very early stages, but if feels so good to get it out. It’s been months since I’ve done any sort of serious writing, so I’m trying to not get discouraged when it’s harder than before. These videos really help to keep me going, so thank you so much for making them. They’re my inspiration

I have been doing lots of productive procrastination lately... I need to start the 5th draft of the first in a series and I am in the middle of my outline/planning phase of book two of that same series. This has definitely given me a big kick in the pants to just GET GOING ALREADY! I know that when I just sit down and crank it out I can get a crap ton of work done, but that fear of failure/success that makes you go crazy and not do the things is really frustrating. I don't know how you write to music with lyrics. I have to play instrumental music exclusively while I am actively writing or I find it too distracting. Occasionally I will play a song that has a certain vibe to get me in a certain mood, but in general I can't focus if there are words. I am loving this style of video though! *sending calming muse vibes your way*

The Book 2 struggles are real! I feel you! I've only recently gotten back on the writing train. I fell off awhile back when I started working two day jobs to try to make ends meet a little easier. All it did was drain me physically and mentally. I had no time for ANYTHING. I ended up suffering a major burnout and so I quit that second job. Now I'm doing much better, but my writing has still been hit-or-miss. Up to now, I've only been writing once a week on Friday nights! I keep forgetting that I have my evenings and weekends back, so I can get back to writing the way I used to. I'm so proud of you for hitting your goal out of the park! That's awesome! It sounds like your draft is close to around the same number of words as our draft of Book #1, which my co-author is currently editing. Dat's a big book! 😲 Writing that huge chunk of words in a month's time is a major accomplishment. You go girl! I'm super happy for you! 💖

I am very happy that you were able to get your first draft done. But, I also think that you need to take care of yourself more. Writing all night doesn't seem like a good idea. I hope you try to consider sleeping more. After all the writing you done, I definitely think you deserve a break. I like your new apartment and I like seeing John there. I’m the same way about editing and re-editing the beginning (and still not satisfied), and I haven’t even finished the rewrite of any of the last chapters. And I moved stuff around, so there’s that. But, if I ever make it to the end of this draft, it’s going to be pretty organized. I haven’t hit 98K yet (close), and stuff will be added because I keep thinking of stuff.
