Exactly, and it was the last os from Microsoft that was ideal to use in the first place. Nowadays, if you did not want to use Windows 7 due to it being unsupported you would have to use Linux or Mac at this point since Windows is continuously getting worse.

Windows 7 was the first os and computer that I ever used in my life. I remember using windows 7 in my old school with 1 computer in my class and a big computer room with windows 7. I remember hearing that startup sound that made me happier as a kid.

I installed Windows 7 on my secondary laptop (plus activator to activate it) for 3 reasons 1. Nostalgia, I grew up with 7 2. Games that were made for Windows 7. 3. Windows Media Center.

I'm still on Windows 7. Had an Alienware laptop when Windows 7 came out, then moved to a custom-built PC in 2015 with a powerful CPU and a mid-range GPU back then. I am still on that computer, replaced the GPU for a bit more powerful one and yesterday I ordered 32 gigs of ram for the PC, been on 8 gigs for probably close to two decades, but can't remember that far back. Also replaced my old Blu-ray recorder with a new one I am going to install when it arrives, don't use blu-ray for recording any more, but I need to get my discs to read information I put there long ago. I don't really care for most AAA games, but I was playing Cyberpunk 2077 and finished it multiple times on my custom computer running Windows 7. Mostly I prefer indie games, like right now I've been playing Exiled Kingdoms over and over and I had about 3000 hours on Sea Dogs to Each his own. Doesn't matter if Steam is going to stop supporting Windows 7 cause I cancelled Steam a few months back and deleted my close to a 100 games I had on it. Let's see what Windows 12 looks like, maybe I'll switch if Microshaft stops screwing over their base. Of course, very unlikely Microshaft will give up their control over our PCs, tyrants don't give up power on their own.

I use windows 7 almost every day on time appropriate hardware (YES, I DO HAVE A WINDOWS 10 PC) and it's still 100% usable. Stuff to remember about using windows 7 1. DO NOT download feature updates, they REALLLY slow down the system. 2. Disable aero while gaming/doing graphics intensive stuff, this will allow the GPU to focus on the game/program.

I still use windows 7 with a GTX-1660ti 6gb i7 and 32gb ram plus 1tb ssd and 3tb hdd. I have zero need to switch till the stuff I do on my pc is no longer possible. Mostly every program I’ve came across still supports windows 7

I’ve got a Ryzen 7 5700X on a B450 board and I still can’t even get Windows 7 to run perfectly, no matter what it will not use the USB 3 ports correctly, I can’t imagine the headache to get XP to work!

I have never went beyond 7 and I very unlikely I will. I have a ryzen pc I built. No 10 or 11 or whatever for me. 7 is a near perfect OS. If it finally gets to where there are problems with support for the software I use I will probably go to an open source OS. They are getting closer to what I call usable every day.

The best way to use Windows 7 in 2023 is not to install the actual firmware on your PC, but to run it off of a virtual machine on a Windows 10 or 11 PC. In fact I used to do it a lot in high school and Windows 7 ran pretty much as fast as the main Windows 10 os through VMWare. You can also set it up to use WiFi and basically explore the internet free from worries about viruses because a VM is isolated.

Windows 7 was the first operating system that I officially purchased and used without reinstalling for almost six years. Then I installed Windows 8.1, and with the release of the new version of Windows, I upgraded to Windows 10 - and all this is completely free. My whole school life was connected with Windows 7. It was on this operating system that I created projects, presentations and the first social media accounts.

Gta 4 has that graphics bug because it doesn't automatically detect video memory. So you have to manually make a txt file for that to fix it. But using a disc version does detect memory strangely.

My uncle still uses windows 7 😆 No it was not exactly like vista, it was and is actually quite stable, and it lost the tile screen option that ended up being used in iPod. =/ That's one feature of Vista I miss. Thanks for sharing the update site.

You failed to mention that Vista had tons of compatibility issues with basically any hardware of the time because hardware manufacturers failed to bring out any working drivers while with WIndows 7, they actually had time to do so. It's easy to say that you like Windows Vista in retrospect when you have working drivers and programs.

Vista wasn't "unfairly panned". Microsoft said 512MB of memory was enough when it needed 2GB, which was a lot in 2007 since it was a 32-bit operating system, and it had an unnecessarily ornate interface, meaning people had to update their computers if they wanted to use it DESPITE NEW COMPUTERS THEY'D JUST BOUGHT SAYING THEY WERE "VISTA READY" WITH 512MB OF RAM. It was so bad that during the 2008 recession, when most people couldn't afford even a normal computer and netbooks became a slow, cheap, but usable alternative, Microsoft extended the use of XP so it could be used on them because there was no way Vista would run on them. They had to because netbooks were using Linux and Microsoft couldn't have that. Microsoft basically ran a campaign lying to everyone about Vista and setting themselves and Vista up for much justified hatred. Windows 7 was their way of backing down and giving users what they wanted in the first place and it was LIGHTER than Vista! It was as if Vista was resource intensive TO GET PEOPLE TO BUY MORE EXPENSIVE COMPUTERS, ALTHOUGH THE PURPOSE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN GETTING THEM TO BUY COMPUTERS SINCE EVEN THE ONES THAT COULDN'T PROPERLY RUN IT CAME WITH "Windows Vista Capable" STICKERS: techcrunch.com/2009/01/04/windows-vista-capable-stickers-might-have-been-a-microsoft-cash-cow/

actually tghhe problem with windows update, is the fact that in windows 7 windows update is brocken by default (windows being windows), you need to usen some patches to make it work and it will install like 4GB in updates and even some drivers as well

Ahh, yes. I had vivid memories of Windows 7. But, before I tell you this story, I have to tell you THAT story... Back in 2014-2015, my house had a computer with a CRT monitor, which ran Windows XP, the first ever operating system I ever used in my life, but I only have the faint memories of Windows XP. In 2016, that CRT monitor got broke, and we got a new 20" LCD Flatscreen monitor, which worked just fine. Soon, the computer which ran Windows XP got broken as well! So, we got a new computer with Windows 7, and I had vivid memories with it! I used to play one game called "Roblox", then on 2018, we got a laptop from my relatives that ran Windows 7 and was faster and smoother than that new computer! I DID try to install Roblox on the Windows 7 laptop, but it was stuck on "Installing Roblox..." while on the new computer, Roblox worked. In 2019, the laptop got upgraded to Windows 10 and I was able to play Roblox on that laptop! I miss Windows 7, I love Windows 7 and I will keep the vivid memories of Windows 7 in my brain!
