Having created the neon effect for years in Photoshop for different clients of mine, I can reveal the secret to getting a realistic neon look! ....drumroll!!!.... Quite simply...just use a photo reference! I know...I know...Captain Obvious... But I am serious! That was how I was able to create photorealistic neon images in Photoshop. So for the spray paint artist, it is the same as it is for digital. Thus, the harsh black drop shadow did not work, because if you study a photo of neon you will see no such harsh drop shadow. The effect looked better before adding the drop shadow...your initial instinctive hesitation was correct! images.app.goo.gl/7AFYd2DQK5QkQuVU8

I watched a video of another guy do this and you did it in almost reverse steps. Good steps were 1) use neon color for the tag 2) rewrite tags in black but off center 3) redo neon where the black covered it. 4) dust with non neon color 5) add white line Even though you went in a different order it created the same effect.

I really like it! Great tip here: try to make the neon “sticks” jump out a bit more next time, so what you did with the final effect... but that thinner and better!👍🏻❤️

You should do a video where you check on all your old artwork that you really liked to see how it’s aging and if anyone tagged over it!🙌🏼

Good Shit right there !! Keep it up ! - I would try to ad the shadow before adding the flair effect - the glow of the Neonlights would go over the shadow as well - nevertheless nice piece

Nah if you look closely at the shadows he adds in, the shadows are pitch black while the bg is still a lot lighter, so it actually is a really dark gray

never before saw a light source casting a shadow
@gapatrici5 жыл бұрын
Precisely what I was going to say, it doesn't make sense to add a shadow, it wouldn't cast it, only maybe if there was a even brighter light in front of it, and if that was the case it wouldn't look neon anymore
@soul23104 жыл бұрын
Black line comes first, it acts as the shadow of the neon lights. over it goes the beam of the light -blue than the actual light in light blue into it comes the white - i use a neon white - i feel it makes it more "pop" back to front. try it with these steps bro.
