Yes, if he would have used more (long tubelike) magnets diagonally on the core it would produce way more current (at lower windspeeds) then even a power drill (100 Watts) would work easily. Sorry, we KZbin users have been deceived too many times. You haven't proven to us that this is 220 volts. Unfortunately the reverse voltage doesn't give 220 volts with the 2 small magnets, that's not enough, so it has to be a trick with small batteries as usual. Prove your work.

This home-made 'fan/generator' could conceivably produce a small amount of power, IF it had a permanent magnet motor, but it doesn't. This is a synchronous motor so the coils would need 'excitation' by a small external power source. I found it fascinating that the lamps were ALREADY LIT 12:16 before the gentleman connected them to the fan/generator. Really? But, even if the fan/generator COULD be made to produce some electricity from wind spinning the blade (it can't due to the non-permanent magnet motor) - NONE of the homebrew contraptions you see on KZbin videos with spinning wheels, magnets, and other gizmos are producing ‘free energy’. Not to mention that the equipment itself they are using is not free - you have to buy pulleys, belts, magnets, and other parts. Of course, the devices are getting their energy from somewhere - either electrical or mechanical (hidden wires / batteries etc) and merely converting it to some other form. (You’d be surprised how many 9 volt batteries or ‘coin-cells’ you can get inside a motor housing, a lamp socket or a power bar!) Plus, the NET ENERGY OUTPUT IS GOING TO BE NEGATIVE - the batteries will die, the flywheels WILL slow down. That is unavoidable due to the violation of the conservation law of energy and the first and second law of thermodynamics. Even a free fan converted into a wind turbine is superfluous and pointless! All practical results show that wind turbines close to the ground generate almost no electricity! Because there is hardly any wind close to the ground. It is also extremely gusty, which usually shortens the service life extremely! Only if you are off grid in winter & live close to the sea, you should install a large wind turbine on a high mast. Becuase 200% more wind means 27x more electricity yield! *With solar modules, on the other hand, reliably generate electricity for 25 to 30 years at approx. 2% to 5% of the cost of small wind turbines!*

That's more than enough to run my lap-top, which is currently my biggest power consumer. My lights run on 7Watts (and provide about as much light as a standard 60W globe (and are used one-at-a-time) and my TV consumes 9 W. I use about 3.8kW per day from solar-panels ( and produce twice+ that much) even during the winter. And I see no reason why, if more amperage was desired, one couldn't just add another 300 CDs. Or 3000. At the price the more you use the more you save!

That runs on 2.3amps, but I spend a lot of time (general browsing/references) on that. Next highest consumption is the fridge: a standard 52-litre Engel, which runs on 32Watts on the highest setting. But that, of course is during the day. At sunset it switches off, and is efficient enough to keep the unit frozen until sunrise. The whole house runs (with frugal use) off a 2.6kW solar array; and although it's siting is far from ideal it keeps a 740ah battery-bank pretty-well fully charged: obviously because I keep the DOD down to a small percentage (including the lights at night. My comment was perhaps a bit flip, but the point was that CD disks are so abundant that you can hook as many together (or in separate banks) as you need to keep your battery-bank (s) afloat. (I put up my first 'system' in 1980, and have gained a lot of experience since. (a 'social contribution' is to set up very basic used systems among the local 'oldies' who are forever battling to stretch their pensions out to cover ever-inflating costs; including electricity. Note: on the odd occasion I use the alternator in the van to top up (or as I see it: 'energise') my batteries by running the engine for an hour. (Cheap enough @ 900 rpm using LPG.) Always intereresting to explore the options and innovations.
