You could possibly have used (or use in the future) the styrofoam/foam sheets to bulk out the tail. Cut it into to strips and wrap it around an armature and glue it in place.

girl I love the new paper mache method! it's much better and more creative and probably a better alternative than the Fish stamp and dinner video I just saw. Back in the late 80's or early 90's There was a woman who did quick last minute DIY videos on TV. I saw a clip of one of her old episodes recently. She took some nice beach towels, and with fabric paint covered a real dead fish from the deli and stamped it on the towels. then she wiped this non edible fabric paint off this fish and then said she was going to cook it up for dinner. lol!

Styrofoam sheets would be great to make a brick veneer! Use a pencil or back of a paintbrush to 'engrave' the brickwork in (Pro tip: Do the horizontal lines first with a ruler and then etch in the vertical lines after in an alternating brickwork pattern). Great for backdrops and bases! (I'm definitely the D&D nerd). I think you can use that same 'etching' technique to maybe use them to make prints? Not sure.

Hmm... The main thing I can think to use the styrofoam sheets for are bricks and stone for terrain or bases, though I'm not sure how working with that texture of foam would go. You'd probably have to gloop on a bunch of modge podge again 😅 She came out lovely! I really enjoy seeing people work with what would otherwise be trash materials. It shows so much creativity and vision and it's really inspiring!
