That herrera that betrayed you shows that bad part of the isle, you had the decency to not eat him and even make a call to let him know you were there just makes me sad. Cannibalism is the main reason I don't enjoy the isle like I used to, once diets were added and a lot of that was discouraged it was better but adding a mutation for it just ruins it once again.

@@Even6 As a fellow Herrera those two death could have also been an accident. the first one could have thought there was someone on the body because you werent in a group, i have unintentionaly killed one or two myself. The second one was probably going for the Tenonto and you were in the way. Or they were toxic players, who knows.

Let me give you and any other Herrera player here some nice advice you may or may not know! While holding the secondary attack button when you are jumping you can spin around in the air, this is apparently often only seen as a funny thing to do but it has a lot of value since you can jump at someone then spin around so that when you hit the ground you can immediately run away instead of facing them and getting "stuck". And for the brave of us, Herrera does not need to jump off from something like a tree in order to "jump on" something even a small slope is enough to give you the fall distance to activate the attack. The damage and bleed is obviously not amazing and while I have not tested anything I imagine it is at least comparable or better than a bite. It can be nice to have available as a tool when you are bleeding someone to death and they run away from trees and such since you can jump over them and be relatively safe(jumping damage hitbox is fairly large!) and keep the bleed going. Bonus is few to none expects a Herrera to jump and scratch at their back/tail from the ground, at least for now.

Get to cruise around the sky and island while retaining freedom from being killed on the ground so long as you don't land and get killed by something (-stares at the herrara climbing up the dam wall-) Love flying down the rivers and seeing different dinos getting water or gliding down paths and messing with any dinos I see by snapping at their heads lol.

I miss legacy. I remember when a dev came on a server i was playing as a hypo spino while i was a docktah AND HE SPAWNED IN THE DOCKS! It was the best moment in my gaming life, a golden moment where i saw something ive always wanted to see, a hypo spino roaring at me through the gate. It was brilliant and terrifying. Now after empty promises and a toxic playerbase, the isle has become a game i dont enjoy so much anymore.

@@mr.crowgamer6250 games been in development for years and its still barely gotten anywhere, it takes hours to grow depending on the dino and you can lose all that time to a bug, large kos group, lag, or more common these days a hacker. Players are rarely nice and the nice ones you do meet usually end up dead so you're stuck with the toxic try hards. It is more fun to watch other people play the isle than it is to actually play the isle. I full on regret buying it and I've followed this game for a lot of its development and was excited to play it but it was very disappointing.

Same thing happens in Path of Titans, you’ll be friendly sharing food just for them to jump you only with path they typically will only jump you if their group is there. I wish the isle was on PlayStation because I’d happily play it over Path of Titans

The way you can creep around with Herra is intriguing to me. If I ever get a pc I'll be downloading The Isle Evrima(played on my sibling's pc for the first time on legacy before Evrima was ever introduced to us)... I haven't stopped thinking of the game ever since, I never made it to subadult for Allo after two deaths. I will say the immersiveness is crazy for myself. Never had as much fun just surviving in any game before. Mad fun exploring/surviving till it came to combat. I will play Evrima for sure. Been following the games "slow" but steady progression. Hope to see Dondis vision fulfilled one day honestly. At the base of it all, I can see a well rounded game in the works even tho it may be grueling on the consumers(let alone Dondis team)

I would have some questions about this game, if anyone is kind enough to answer them ^^ I've watched some videos about it in the past few days, and I like what I see, but here are my questions: - What happens when your dino die? Like, do you start again from zero? Do you keep your progression and just respawn somewhere else? etc - What happens to your character when you disconnect? - Is it fully PvP? Or is there some PvE, or evena fully PvE mode? - Do you have a wide range of species? And do you have all species unlocked from the beginning or do you need to play again and again in order to unlock them bit by bit? - How easy it is to understand how to play the game, how to grow your character, how to perk? etc - And finally, would you have another game like this to recommand over this one? (Like Path Of Titans for exemple, I would have the same questions basically). I would really appreciate if someone answer me ^^

-If you die you gotta start all over -theres safe log where all ur progress is saved. If u crash u will lose ur dino if u dont log back in -Some pve elements but mainly pvp -Access to all dinos on purchase, more being added and developed all the time. About 15 dinos ingame atm -Pretty simple premise. Grow, kill, eat and repeat. Im still learning some little things here n there and im 300hrs deep -The isle is the more realistic dino survival game but also the only one ive played. I plan on trying Path also End of the day I've definitely gotten my $20 worth, hope this helps!

Bit late but a handy tip for any new herra players. West rail access spawn is a easy way to get perfect diet. Frogs spawn in and sometimes hang on the edge of the pond. Then follow the path to the sea south/south east and a lot of sea turtles spawn there.

That's so weird. My Herrera today looked identical and I also ended up migrating to the swamp where I was hunting Deinos. I ended up being trapped by gators where if I landed on the floor, they'd snatch me up. So I launched off, killed young Deinos, this made the others back away somewhat since it was a rock formation and I got a good dinner. Surprisingly, I always hated swamp region, but Herrera makes it very enjoyable plus the natural camoflage is insane, even without proper skin detail. New sub as well btw! ❤

The isle could be one of if not the best dinosaur survival games out there. But it’s sunken so low. The harsh growth time & death penalties basically don’t allow you to even play the game in the first place since 90% of the gameplay is just growing, and you basically can’t do anything while you’re small. The community honestly sucks aswell, the only thing people do is kill kill kill. People will do anything just to kill another player, cannibalism, tricking players with friendly calls, etc. this is one of the reasons I stopped playing the isle and moved over to PoT and I also play some BoB on the side. Listen, path ain’t perfect, but it has an overall more friendly community even in official. Not to mention although path arguably has the longest growth time out of the big 3, Paths minimal death penalty ensures that your time isn’t wasted playing their game, if you die you lose a small amount of growth which you can usually get back in like 15 minutes. Bob is the reverse, you may die and lose everything, but the growth time to elder isn’t nearly as long as the isle. Iirc most dinosaurs take like 45 minutes to grow in BoB. But the isle just has all the negatives combine into one game. Makes me believe that harsh survival and realism just isn’t the way to go.

When u first install the game it gives u the old version of the isle. Go to steam, right click the isle, go to betas and change it to "Evrima - Evrima public branch" This is the newest version of the game. I had the same issue first playing. Hope you enjoy!

Fun fact some animals kill for fun ex. Humans. Also its not always about the sport of hunting but if food is hard to come by another mouth could be the reason you die. The croc is pretty forgiving but if you see one fish an 5 crocs say bye bye to the weaker ones. At the end of the day its survival of the fittest an every dino got blood on em. I try to justify things like this to get the best experience. If a dino is running around KOS i just imagine they got dino rabies or something.
