I am creating a new game from scratch inspired by the popular Lethal Company and Content Warning except I added cards and turned it into a roguelike deck builder!
Lethal Company is a co-op horror about scavenging at abandoned moons to sell scrap to the Company. Your job is to collect scrap from abandoned, industrialized moons to meet the Company's profit quota. You can use the cash you earn to travel to new moons with higher risks and rewards--or you can buy fancy suits and decorations for your ship.
Unity is a state-of-the-art game engine and editor for creating 2D, 3D, AR, and VR games with cross-platform capabilities, realistic rendering, dynamic physics, and more. It offers a user-friendly development environment and versatile tools, making it a popular choice for game development.
I made this game with the Unity Game Engine. This is a devlog style video. This devlog is kind of similar to videos of dani codeparade Barji Polymars Pontypants DevDuck Goodgis sebastian lague BWDev Fancy and other game coding youtubers.

I like the concept! Here's an idea: The card/deckbuilding is pretty unique, so why not separate card types (like classes or roles the players have) so when you get a card pack or something similar, you can choose the general function of your card. For instance: The extra loot slot card could be apart of the scavenger deck set, which revolves around gathering loot quickly and efficiently, while another could be a recon deck set that gives you the ability to communicate and survey for monsters/traps Hope it all goes well!

Thank you for your idea! The only thing I had in my notes was "Cards will lean towards a certain 'build'" but I really like the idea of having different sets of card packs that are tailored towards each build. Maybe these should be purchasable from a store or found around the dungeons who knows. I'm thinking that the player will only be able to select their cards before deploying, this wasn't the case in this video due to testing purposes but this will add to the idea that players should work together for the most optimal cards amongst them!

@@ChezzaGameDev Some more specific Card Pack ideas: Scavenger: Extra slots (Maybe even temporary slots), weighed down less by loot, Can setup a zipline/movement tool that loot can be moved on, moves faster when holding high value loot Recon: Can sense monsters and nearby players with a pulse like ability, Long range communication, can force doors to close and takes monsters longer to open them, moves faster after marking an enemy Brute: Can shoulder-check enemies to stun them, more health, Can break down locked doors, moves faster after attacking a monster Engineer: Can create foam trails to dampen sounds, can make scrap into tools directly, can have a temporary drone (or rolling camera like in R6) to check nearby areas, can move faster after evading a chase Support: Can heal injuries, Can inject players with adrenaline to take less damage and move faster temporarily (Possibly remotely?) , moves faster after healing somebody I wanted to separate the move faster ability to differentiate classes, as it would be an oblivious Always-pick, if it was just better speed all around for everyone

Some great ideas here! I agree about the movement, it will go into a specific build but it was just a proof of concept for now. I really like the camera idea, I'm getting black ops camera spike vibes to maybe watch your back. Although, I have a feeling I will end up implementing quite a few of these ideas :)

Add a broom so we can hit your friend with it. A space card collector game sounds like a fun idea, makes me wonder what will be the game over for it thou.

I like the idea, have them ragdoll when hit or something as well. Although I would need to balance this so they don't get abused...

I absolutely neeed there to be cards for trolling your friends. Give me a swap card that lets me switch places with a teammate or a lure card that draws an enemy near with no warning to my friends!
