If you poly that wooden furniture piece with a 3-4 coats of a matte poly it will last a lot longer outside -it is so cute and so is your whole makeover

I really like the ivy "trellis." This would be a great filler as actual climbing vines grew and filled in the space, for a living green wall. 🌿

Don't forget to 'tease' the bottom of the roots when you replant them. They'll absorb the necessary minerals and water that will allow for longer life of the plant. Your wheelbarrow IS perfect. It's just a different look. I live in an apartment along a river (overlooking) in central Texas, which I love. But watching you plant, clean and create a beautiful, retreat in your backyard, makes me want to live in a larger space so I can do the same.

The vines on the wall need to be more "random." In nature, vines never grow in a perfect pattern like that. Otherwise, looks great. One of the movies you should play on your patio is "Cinema Paradisio." Shot in a small Italian village, it's a wonderful movie.

If she likes how they look it doesn’t matter how you think they “need” to look or how they grow in nature. I think it looks great. It’s her space. I’m sure she’s aware vine don’t naturally grow like that but you can actually train vines to grow in a certain pattern if they’re placed that way.

Plan and simple here .... when you put plants into pots they -- need - to have ( Potting Soil ) so that the roots can breathe .... I believe that you used garden soil ... good for in ground but not in pots ..... However your project turned out beautiful .... !!!

Hello from Dallas! As a retired woman, I admire you for stepping up and conquering your dreams. You did exactly what you said you wanted to. With your trellis design, I’m rethinking my living wall. You are a young couple and figured out how to watch movies outside. We didn’t get those things. Our daughter did just treat me to an outdoor tv. It got stolen, but then the police found the suspect about 4 days later, still in the box and straps. My husband worked all day today to install it. He thinks he can finish tomorrow. We’ve spent so much time over the last two years on our entire backyard. I love to watch channels like yours after he goes to bed at night. I’ve got tons of mosquito plants and citronella candles out there it’s Heaven. Thank you for letting us watch you put together another paradise.

What a fantastic beautiful job u did I wanted to take my glass of wine and sit out there myself it is gorgeous have fun and enjoy it for years to come u have a great imagination now all u need out there is a small herb planter ( basil/parsley/rosemary/sage /chives/thyme & mint ) I am Italian I have all that in planters on my deck my hubby came from Calabria Italy when he was 13 and does all the cooking which I love I cooked the first 30yrs. And he’s cook this last 30yrs. I hope u get that lucky (lol) his passion is cooking so he’s excellent at. Again enjoy your beautiful home!!!!!

You can also drill a hole in the bottom of the wheelbarrow and fill it with the soil. Plants in clay pots need to be watered constantly and might grow better in the dirt in the barrow. Looks great. I like the vines on the wall.

Kudos to you guys! Love seeing a young couple do such a cool makeover on a budget! You found some AWESOME items at your friends junkyard and the red wheelbarrow is SO cool and perfect to hold your plants! Also, I loved the climbing Vines to totally change the wall! For future reference, when you put plants in new pots it's a good idea to add some rocks to the bottom for better drainage AND you should generally pull the roots apart gently and then put the plant in the new soil😉 well done!! 💜💜💜

Oh how creative, YES!!!!! I like the fountain and paint idea. I want to try that. I have an old plastic pot and the fountain is under 15 bucks. You're 1/2 German, 1/2 Italian, that means you have Lasagna with Liebfraumilch. 😁😁

I have the same solar fountains.On the instructions it states to keep the solar panel out of the suns ray as it will make fuuny sounds turning it on and its not good for the motor,so put it together in the shade. On your clay pots and all pots with a hole in bottom-lay a small piece of screen and then your potting soil has less chance of falling thru the hole. On your pots with no drainage holes-use small rocks/pebbles to create drainage. On the bird bath,the application of the spray paint to make it look rustic was very good,nice look.But I would have taken a large clay saucer-give that a once over-glue it to the bottom base-then glue the pot to that..
