Not really. The Wii U is actually fairly easy to get homebrew on... I'd even go as far as saying it's easier to hack than the original Wii. You just throw some files on an SD card, open the web browser and go to a page that runs an exploit.

At that point if you have a decent enough pc I would just use a switch emulator. Less hassaling with all these applications. That way it also wont be laggy like his experience. Just make sure you sit the bitrate to 3 when playing with friends on parsec or moonlight.
