Interesting concept! It seems you put all of them in parallel on your spandex thingy! If you put them in series, you should have like a few volts. Also running in cold air is better! it gets your body warm and the heatsinks cold, and one more important thing: those units have direction, if you flip the cold/hot side, you also reverse the voltage output. So perhaps you tied them randomly causing them to fight each other. Or perhaps they are just rubbish and don't make power!!!

one of my friend was working on a research project funded by the US Army about 20 years ago that was literally this idea. The major difference though was the tech used. My friend's research was into a material that was elastic and generated a tiny voltage when stretched out. The theory was that a person could wear a skin suit make of thousands of tiny air tight pockets of air that would expand and contract with your body heat as you moved around. The army wanted something that could replace the batteries for all the gadgets they were working on at the time. from what i remember, the stretching material did generate some tiny voltage, but it could not be scaled up to replace a regular AA battery. it seems like every few years another group takes a crack at this idea, but no one has come up with a method that beats having a few AA batteries on you.

Just buy a few 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 batteries and an inverter for half the price. If it's for blackout backup you don't need solar panels, though if you get them you'll also have an awesome camping setup. I'm in Australia and for $3000 AU I made a 7kWh storage plus 5000W inverter (2000W plus 3000W). That's about $2000 US, but the same items would cost less in the US anyway. Actually that's about a third of the price of a Jackery.

You should look into the research done about adding piezoelectric insoles in your shoes. Walking generates energy. You can also strategily place magnets and coils around the body to create a series of monopole generators. Like a magnet on your wrist and a coil on your hip, or on the inside of your knees. As you walk the magnet passing by the coil induces current. They also played with a strap around the chest to try and harvest breathing energy but it tended to make people really anxious having a strap around their chest.

Wire them up in series is more effective because the resistance of your wires fighting back. you need a higher voltage so you get less Ampere and this means you lose less power during resistance. Reaching 6v for USB isnt hard and your phone wil try keeping the voltage in a range of 4,3 to 5,8v according to the USB specification. so maybe 20mA to 40mA are possible for you without any conversion needed. this is enough to extend the Runtime of your phone for hours maybe a day+. if you use a simple small Phone like the those who can only take calls and SMS this might can be charged. They usually have only 300mA battery and last for 1 week to 3 weeks in standby. Those are happy with a 10mA

There are some really cool energy harvesting ICs out there that can harvest below 50mV. Still, it's probably better if you put some cells in parallel and some in series and use them to charge a battery through an efficient buck-boost charger (perhaps even a mppt tracking capable one (often for solar cells but should work for thermoelectric generators)) for a balance of current and voltage to be the most effective HUMAN BATTERY.

@miauzure3960Ай бұрын
connecting them in series rather than parallel (or mix of both) would be more efficient in my opinion (also cable-wise). The step-up converter might claim it takes input voltage as low as 0.33V, but the lower boundary often works as shit and has limited output current
