Just so you know, my walmarts sell practically the same yarn, it's called peaches and cream rather than sugar and cream, I mix and match sugar and peaches in my projects all the time they're like the same gauge and everything. So if you're joanns doesnt have the color you want you can always try the walmart version!

I've always been more into painting and drawing personally, but my grandma was very crafty, and two of her favorite things to do were to sew and crochet (she made me clothes and stuffed animals all the time). She meant to teach me when I was a kid, but unfortunately never got around to it before she died. I've wanted for years to learn, but never got around to it; just life getting in the way. Lately though, I've been really motivated to finally learn how, so this video was such a pleasant coincidence. :)

A good trick is when you change color, hold the tail along the line of stitching and work over it, catching the tail in each stitch. No running in the ends! Yes, gusset. It turned out very cute!

Your bag looks great! I used to crochet my tails in when I could so I didn't have as big a mess. I only remember making two bags; I used fabric to make a simple lining and sewed it to the inside top edges.

OHHH BTW YOU SHOULD TRY TO DO A TEMPERATURE BLANKET NEXT YEAR It’s a crochet thing that you do and you pick your colors for every 10 degrees,-higher number reds and oranges,lower ones blues and purples- and you try to update/add on to it everyday I feel like you would be really good at it and at the end of the year you get to see your progress and how the year’s temperatures were I hope that you see this and take it into consideration 😊

A quick tip for doing multiple colors: use a colander/strainer thingy and pull the yarn through the holes. I learned this when I started knitting with multiple colors and haven’t tried it with crochet but that really helped me with knitting!

You need some yarn pots! Grab some air dry clay next time you're at JoAnns or whatever. Make a pot with some holes or a spiral cut into the side. When it's done drying (& painted it if you wish) you put your yarn into it & pull them thru the holes to keep it all from getting tangled and messy. Works for some, maybe it'll help next time you take on a multi-yarn project. 👍🏻👍🏻

Ahhh crochet, in my elementary school the music teacher was good at crochet, Escher kid got to pick two colors and she would stitch those two colors into a giant blanket, this was from kindergarten to 5th grade who got to choose two colors, she sold the blanket at the school auction but in 4th-5th grade we had to help untangle the yarn, and THAT. Was a NIGHTMARE
