I started a new job a while ago at a hospital. And I hated it lol. I've never felt more unwelcomed/unhappy. So, I immediately quit. It felt like a fail at the time but it was what's best for me. And I'm honestly so much happier at the job I have now. Everything happens for a reason.

Romee I love watching your videos, but I don't think you should be moving or anything like that with your illness, there's nothing wrong with a vacation, but I worry if you were in some other country and you ended up getting really sick, and needed treatment, those hospital don't know your diagnosis..It would take that hospital a real long time to get your medical records, and you would be sitting in the hospital just waiting .I wouldn't want to be away from my home town drs for a real long time, Vacation is one thing moving is another..

I had a very similar experience recently. I regularly go to gigs on my own in the UK, and love going to festivals with my friends. I was feeling stir crazy post-COVID and was eager to get some sun. I decided to go to my first festival abroad. None of my friends wanted to come, so I decided I'd go alone. I booked a lovely hotel by the beach for 12 days in a country only about 2 hours flight away from mine, and flew out the day before the festival started. I'd never been abroad alone before. To cut a long story short, I only lasted 48 hours, and had repeated panic attacks the entire time. I flew home, and I'm so glad I did. It was a learning experience, for sure. Initially I was embarrassed and looked online for people who had similar experiences, but didn't find much. Thank you for sharing, Romee. You're completely right that we should feel proud of ourselves for being courageous and going, and also for recognising when we needed to remove ourselves from an unhealthy situation.

Must be a cultural difference thing, I was surprised you said that because your parents are in vacations you feel free to live in their house. In south Europe at your age often children live with their parents and the parents house is not considered “ their house” but the family’s house. Parents are happy to have their children living with them even at your age. Cultural differences between the north and south:)

I'm sorry your plans fell through. :( Just a side note, what you used there is not duct tape, that's packing/shipping tape. It won't last because the adhesive isn't strong enough and the sun will fry it. You need actual duct tape which will stick really well for a long time. At the hardware store look for "duct tape" on the packaging. It's sturdy and will secure literally anything for a long time. xoxo

Yeah. Gorilla do some good tapes that will withstand the UV. Some of the cheaper Duct tapes are also not so great in the sun. I did find one that was clear with a mesh embedded and that was really good for quick fixes for car stuff.

I feel that way when I go on my bicycle, I don't have a driver's license, but on my bike I relax and have time with myself In Denmark most people have a bike..we are a bike loving nation, this year's tour de France has been epic with danish eyes so far..3 stagewins in 4 days and the yellow jersey 💛 unbelievable

I am so glad to hear you’re not giving yourself a hard time for leaving the situation in Portugal. I remember when I went to France on my gap year to become an au pair, I wish more than anything that I had been able to leave a few weeks into it, rather than five months later. I felt too much pressure and stayed only half the time I was meant to, but even that was five months too long. It’s so good to know yourself and not be so agreeable that you stick something out and get totally miserable. Life’s too short and I am proud you did what was right for you.

I moved to Germany from the US back in May for an internship. I moved every two weeks starting when I got here up until the beginning of July. It was horrible. I can't believe I didn't leave, but honestly I'm glad I'm still here. It was quite the journey but I'm loving it a lot more now. Sometimes it's hard and it still works out, and sometimes it's hard and you need to opt out. It's not easy to know which decision to make, but as long as you're happy with the one you made, then that's all that matters.

I had friends that were also upset when their parents took their names off of the doors to "their" room. You've been on your own for awhile. You moved out and now your parents welcomed you back. That doesn't mean that they are obligated to leave it as your room . As soon as things get settled you will move out again. My friend's mom turned "her" room into a reading/craft room the week after she moved out. You look GREAT in yellow. Be safe and take care.

Romee, I am sorry that Portugal did not work out the way you planned. Italy did not work out for me either because of some family issues. My mother was very angry that my great uncle and aunt forged my grandmother's signature on a legal document and she was so angry and never forgave them and my mother's great anger for the last 10 years of her life with me put a lot of emotional distress on me.

So Portugal didn't workout.. the relief that shows in your posture about coming home is amazing.. it's like the weight of the world has been lifted off of your shoulders.. Eindhoven Airport. When I got back from a trip years ago I had to wait 45 minutes to get back into the country. Like seriously! But I think it's great to have an airport close to where I live because that's easier then Schiphol. I think I just was out of luck because the plane almost didn't fly back to The Netherlands due some technical issues all of a sudden that needed to be fixed first. If only Eindhoven Airport worked more efficient.
