I made a boo boo. I titled this video incorrectly (it was copied and pasted from my previous video) which means this video missed the initial push by KZbin for a newly launched video! It is fixed now but.. oh well 🏃

I accidentally did once on one of mine... i made the mistake of uploading it and publishing it on schedule, while i was asleep... so i didnt see until the next day after work... I was so tempted to take it down and reupload it. Thanks for the video and for talking about the subject of youtube/influencer... There's a lot of different views out there, but yours seemed very nuanced. Thanks!

Early mornings and late nights too.Very tiring if you have a full time job but I promised to myself and my few subscribers that I'm going to upload regularly so I stick to it . Hopefully I manage to get off from the ground by end of the year.😅 Good luck for every small or start up KZbin out there!!

I don’t like when people talk about whether or not starting a channel is “worth it”. Start a channel if you have something to say. If you want to share your life, your opinions, your travels, or you want to teach something. Start a channel be you want to. Not because you want to make money or become internet famous. If you have a passion for a topic, you will have all the motivation that you need, and whether you gain thousands of subscribers or not shouldn’t even matter. If you get monetized, great! If not, no big deal because that isn’t your goal.

I started my channel few months ago and it's amazing how it grew in few months. I say start a KZbin channel if you have something valuable to share to the world. Eventually KZbin will see the consistent message you are putting out there and once people will start noticing that it's a value to them, it will be distributed more. I wish everyone success, don't give up, be yourself, be authentic and share value 😊

I think everyone starts a KZbin channel in the same way you mention, to offer value and everything else that comes with it is a plus. A strong mindset is a must to not let that hinder your goal.

I do it because I love being creative and want to share my ideas and passions with others. When you stop chasing the sub count, you become less stressed and more natural. People can see the difference and are drawn to it. My first channel took years to reach 100 subs. This one is on track to double, if not triple, that in the same time frame. The only change I made was not caring as much about the subs and just focused on doing my thing. Great realistic advice thank you😎

Eh, see my dear. Achieving success on KZbin is not by luck. When you see people making it big, and you pay close attention, you will notice that they are doing something people often overlook. For example, I went to your channel and the first thing I discovered was that your channel doesn't have a clear niche. You upload videos about different things all the time and this makes your channel disorganized. And when people don't understand the clear niche (or purpose) of a channel, they tend not to keep up with it. I'm not trying to bring you down, but I just want you to know that KZbin is not by luck. There are so many things one needs to do that will give you success in KZbin within a short time.
@Midnight_Undetermined
@Midnight_Undetermined Ай бұрын
@destinyroland5677 I was basically saying that once I stopped focusing so hard on certain areas, positive things followed.☺️ Thanks for giving my channel a visit, and constructive criticism is always welcome💪 My niche is healing. Healing of the mind, body, and soul. Through mindset changes like my sit down vids, exercises like yoga or stretching, a healthy diet via homegrown food, having a hobby you enjoy, like reading, thrifting and last taking care of your personal hygiene. I mention it in most of my videos. We have accountability checks on my community page, and I have it all in my like description page to read. However, for potential subscribers who don't take the time to read channel pages like I do... I could do an intro to make it clearer... Thanks for getting me thinking. I'll pop over to yours and show some support.🫶

More views = more revenue = more sponsors. With the income, you can reinvest into your channel and potentially buy time to create more videos to get more views. It is a cycle. It is easy to assume 150K means success but many big channels out there are not sustainable due to insufficient revenue. Maintaining a channel takes time and effort, something I would say many take for granted. We all may have good intention when creating our videos to help people for free but I find free content can be detrimental to our channel. A minority of them appreciates the free content but a majority of those just want free content because it is free and can get all fired up when we try to sell something (which is essential to support ourselves). I guess my point in this video is, finding the audience who are supportive in every aspect (growth, finance, experience) is essential. You can build a community who just wants free stuff, and that's good to grow your channel, but it is not a sustainable business model. It is not easy to walk away from the effort you put in in the last 5.5 years and I respect you for that, for your courage and decision. All the best!

Kevin, GREATLY APPRECIATE your advice and insight. I currently have a shorts channel focusing solely on jokes. And while my intention has remained (a moment of daily laughter), I did and do hope it will continue to grow. But I have found the challenges to be difficult at times. I currently have 271 subscribers, 236,000 views, 5,200 likes over my first 4 months, etc. And while I am proud of those numbers and feel blessed to have achieved them, I am now also experiencing stagnated growth in all areas. I have concluded that at this point, simply take pride in the product you offer, fully enjoy what that offering is, and if it ultimately proves successful, then so be it. And lastly, for those of you currently operating a site or contemplating starting one. DON'T allow yourself to be corrupted by the, YOU MUST DO THIS or YOU MUST DO THAT to properly succeed. Offer an honest an sincere product. And if you ultimately walk away, you will do so having stayed true to yourself. Mike Beal Fan and Subscriber

Thanks for the sub. I always find it hard to balance between giving value vs hitting the numbers. Once you start to focus on the numbers, content tends to deteriorate because you may find yourself creating the same type of content repeatedly. On the other hand, YT wants you to focus on numbers before considering pushing your videos to a wider audience, resulting in more views. It is a vicious cycle, 1 I have yet to get out of myself.

I completely gave up on getting monetized!!! After I reached my 1000 Subs I rarely get excited anymore when I get new subs. I love my Subscribers but I noticed YT will only push out the bigger channels no matter how you change up or be creative and do all that suggested only to not get more views!!!!! So I decided to focus on putting out what I enjoy and pray others will see my work. It's nearly impossible for us small channels to gain 10Mill views really?!? It can only happen if YT push it out to more people!!! They push mine to do many then wham stop pushing after about 6 hours. Really I mean we never see growth until YT does what it wants with our videos!!!! Very frustrating. Going on 3 yrs now and I'm trying to stay motivated here. Thanks for your helpful videos.

I would suggest everyone wanting to start a KZbin channel to ask themselves these questions and get clear answers: 1- Why do I want to do this? 2 - If you do it as a hobby or fun, will you still do it if nobody gives you feedback or sees it? 3 - If you do it as a hobby but have expectations to turn it into a career or business you probably should already prepare you channel for that. If you go that route or straight to business, will you want to put that much work without getting any guarantees of success? 4 - You know why you want... do you know how you'll try it? No method no clear path. 5 - And finally, if you have expectations of any kind, are you ready for them to fail? Hope it helps someone. Great video!

10 years on KZbin and I've hit almost every wall there is. Long form, short form, live streams, let's plays... anime reviews, unboxings. I've done all the damage I can ever do, and actually thought of abandoning ship and going to a new channel. But then, I realized that, I like the content that I make now... I like the cringe aspect of being a dude with a Cat Girl vtuber mascot... and commenting on gaming news and updates on games that I enjoy playing. The struggle to get the algorithm to push my videos out is always hit or miss, and sometimes, I'll go through weeks of banger after banger, and then suddenly I'm wandering through a valley of dry bones. I've heard people say for years: “Consistency is key,” and they're not wrong. But it's not being consistent in that I need to bust my butt uploading everyday, it's being consistent in content type and quality. Edit: the videos that _keep_ getting views (those evergreen videos), are kind of surprising. Even after 2 or 3 years they still get 10-20 views a day... things like, “How To Schedule A Live Stream” still gets views. Those are the ones to try to recreate. Those videos that endure long after the initial 72 hour algorithm burst.

Ideally, just share value, genuinely teach people. For the record, KZbin is worth it. Whether the money comes or not, being able to create a channel on KZbin that people can visit is an opportunity and a privilege by the platform that we shouldn't take for granted because we didn't invest a dime in creating this very platform. You have the best perspective on how youtube works for creators😊. I almost fell into the trap about fame and attention that everyone wants, but thankfully, I know exactly what my goals are. It's still a small channel right now, but I no longer care about numbers. I have been experimenting little changes on every video I upload on my free time. Most of these experiments I just hide from the public and make them unlisted, because they're not yet finished. However, these little projects of mine were fun and made me understand how to use youtube correctly. Then there was this one time a subscriber commented on one of my videos. He\she asked me about the content, they were really interested in it, and for the first time, I was able to fulfill exactly the true end goals of my channel. It was just one person, but it made all the difference. From then on, I realize how fun youtube actually is when you have the right mindset like you explained in this video. I will continue making more when I am ready. I hope every potential creator watching this right now can find the right moment to understand the real goals for their channel in the future. Have a great day, everyone!❤

It feels good to help others. Just know that as your channel grows and demands go up, you may find yourself putting a lot more time and effort into creating what others want. When that time comes, know that your precious time always come first so don't give it away freely. Understand your boundaries, that's my 2 cents.

sometimes people get a big fake boost of subscribers, which makes it all feel hollow and fake. Like a 200 sub channel gets 3k more overnight, and few comments after that.

I've seen a channel go from 15k to 85k literally overnight lol

Thank you for sharing your views. I make videos because I like to document my travel stories and also recipes. And I do not expect that It will grow to million views. I enjoy it but if my vlogs are helpful to someone then I would be very happy :)

Hey Kevin, this video of yours changed my perspective. Thanks. You have gained a wealth of knowledge with your 241 videos. Keep going mate. By the way, what's your goal of your channel?

My goal has always been to show that it is possible to make money as a content creator/influencer while working a full-time job. The ultimate goal here is to turn it into a business and replace my full-time job. The past few years have been me learning the ropes (still am) and just sharing what it takes. But once I find the secret recipe, I'll definitely bring along the ones who shares the same goal with me and hopefully I'll be able to guide them by using my experience.

Hello Kevin! You're pretty darned smart for a mere tyke in comparison to MrOldTimer. Me, I'm always like 10 years late....cell phones, bottled water...you name it...and now this video mess. Just getting started here, mostly for a lark. Anyway, I'll tell you what kept me from doing more with vid 20 years ago when I was hot into Internet Marketing.... One of the gurus back then was already preaching YT alternatives. He said in essence, "What KZbin giveth, KZbin can take away." In other words, don't put all your eggs in the KZbin basket. They can pull the rug out at any time for no reason at all and you'll never get a human there to fuss at. You're simply...over. So, that sent me down other paths.....but here I am in good old 2024. Whoopee! I see your channel is doing very well. Congrats! Thanks for this GREAT vid! MrOldTimer

Yeah, we're all at the mercy of KZbin. I guess this is all the same for anything really.. I have a full-time job but I do side hustles to diversify my income, such as this KZbin channel (also the reason why I am trying so hard). As for not jumping in early on the next big thing, I think that happens to everyone. I guess what puts people off is they have to try and fail 9 different 'next big things' before hitting that big 1. Needing to fail 9 times out of 10 can be demoralising. And let's face it, a lot of gurus recommend 'the next big thing' but most of the time it fails as well. Best we can do is focus on what we can do and just try things out, fail, learn and repeat till we find success.
