To help you with the bath - there are two things to keep in mind. First, cats have a higher core temperature than people, so bathing water needs to be very warm for them to be comfortable - not quite scalding (just check it on the inner side of your forearm). Second, I've heard that what actually scared cats during the bath is the sound of the tap. So unless the cat is very filthy, it's better to fill two bowls with water, put the kitten into one, wash him in it and then just rinse him with water from the other bowl. This might be a bit more troublesome for the human but is easier on the cat ❤️

It also helps by using a simple washcloth at the start, just brushing them with it, then adding a bit of water to let them get comfortable with the idea of being washed by you.

There are actually methods to get a kitten used to water, so they aren’t scared. One person filled their sink up, but not too much, and while the kitten was examining the water, they slowly started putting the warm water on them from the sink, it could take a while for the cat to get used to water though. The cat might either be fine when you put the, in, go in themselves after enough times, or will… try to get out XD

Every cat I owned I always took them in the shower with me when I showered. I would just hold them at first with my back to the water, just being in there with the steam and hearing the water flowing at first, once they were use to that I'd start being back further letting the water run down my front. Then slowly start turning until they are use to it all and just let the water spray down on them. Whole thing takes about 2-3 months depending on how often one may shower. A few got to the point that the sound of water ment 'time for cuddles!' Guess the only downside, always having a cat wanting love or insisting on staying by your feet as you bathe. You will have some that just never like water, but they shouldn't fuss as must if they are use to it. People may think bathing a cat is cruel, but many do need it, and getting a cat use to water early can save you from a lot of war wounds if ever needed.

She's adorable!! I miss my calico baby so much!! I raised her from 2 days old, she was left behind when we startled a mama kitty with her babies in a cardboard warehouse. We watched the cameras all night hoping mama would come back but sadly, no. When we saw the rats start to close in we lost it, went racing back yelling & screaming to scare them off and scooped her up, back home to warm bottles, warm blankets and warm arms to keep her safe!! She grew up so beautiful! Has a good home with a retired couple who worship her ♥!!

I am too but keeping them bathed or using pet wet wipes on them, especially the ones for pet dander will free you up from the allergy problems that you have. And keep the litter box clean as much as possible or make payments for a robo litter box. The dust can stir up some from their scraping litter to make a perfect peeing & crapping spot + burying it while they are in it. So vacume well or/& mop, depending on where you keep the litter box, ok? Than you should be fine. Hold the cat by the scruff like mama cats do to their own kittens while bathing 0r/& the pet wiping processes. 🐾😺🐾

you can actually but its pricy.. you're actually allergic to their saliva, and they clean up with their tounge spreading to all of the furs. Since cat shed alot you tend to sneeze more (or other) theres a cat that doesnt shed alot since it was bred to survive in the cold.

Make sure her water isn't too hot and that the water stream isn't too powerful. If it feels warm to your hands, it may be a little too warm for them, so add just a little bit more cold water. You only need to bathe a cat if she was dirty from living outside.... After they are inside they keep themselves clean! She looked clean before you gave her a bath but I wasn't there! You obviously love her and want the best for her! She is precious!!!

My girl was a rescue from the street and she looked good but she had ringworm, if you looked into the fur on her back you could see all the skin flaking. We both had to have regular baths with medicinal shampoo for 2 months🤣 she wasn't happy about it. Just sayin cats fur can look clean and they still might have problems that need baths.

Poor baby really didn't like taking a bath. She will eventually get used to bath. Its definitely best to start them young like that. She needs some toys to entertain herself. Even little stuffed animals. Mine love their stuffed animals and all of mine are grown now. ( I have a 13, an 11 and two 7 year olds.) They carry them around the house and even sleep with them! Now is also a good time to start training her with a spray bottle since she does not like water. I trained mine like that. I would spray and say "NO" to teach them not to get on counters, tables, dressers, shelves and not to eat people food or get into trash. Eventually you can just say no without the spray bottle and she will obey. Cats are very smart and are easily trainable. Mine have also been trained to sit for their dinner. I bet you have a smart girl there and she will be a joy to train and watch her learn as she grows!

@@velvety2006 cats can clean themselves, certainly the short haired varieties, but some of long haired MUST be groomed regularly to prevent matting. We have had something like 15 cats over the years and they have never needed to take a bath. Cats generally hate water and if you want to deter a cat from chasing a bird a water pistol can be very effective. This fashion, and that is all it is, for bathing a cat is unnecessary and stressful, unless as I said because of some nasty contamination.

I have two cats that are just the sweetest little girls. The mama and her daughter. Nightshade and boots. Boots just turned a year old a week ago. No idea how old the mama is though.
