Igbo Must Go Hashtag: Obasanjo Breaks Silence, “We Own This Country Together”
Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who eventually broke the silence over rumour linking his paternity to Igbo, says such insinuation made him laugh.
The former leader shared his views during a meeting with the Ndigbo Amaka Progressive Market Association, an umbrella body of major markets in Lagos state,
at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta on Thursday.
Obasanjo, who did not elaborate on the paternity claim, used the occasion to underscore his belief in national unity, asserting that no Nigerian should be excluded from any part of the country.
He declared, “We own this country together,” and emphasized that everyone, including the Yorubas, Igbos, and Hausas, should work towards unity rather than division.
