I've used Seafoam for years and I never had any problems. Of course, I follow the instructions on the bottle and only use the recommended amount of Seafoam to treat my gas tank. It's NOT a good idea to dump an entire gallon of Seafoam into your gas tank. Because TOO MUCH Seafoam or fuel injector cleaner could burn up your valves ...causing internal engine damage.

I just ran 2.3 gallons of this stuff through a 2019 Suburban with a 5.3 flex in it. It is an ex limo and had 2300hrs of idle time recorded and was running like a pig. It had half a tank in it, I threw in 1/3 of a gallon. I drove it to 1 quarter tank and poured 1 entire gallon of Seafoam into it, I then let it get to 1/8 of a tank and added yet another whole gallon of seafoam. The idea being that this engine has so much idle time that extreme measures were called for. Once I ran it almost out of fuel I filled her back up with good old regular gas. She purrs like a kitten. It then had a slight cough every now and then so I figured it had a sore throat. I fired a can of Seafoam aerosol down the intake engine side of the AFM module. Yes sir, that's a new engine. Purrs like a kitten and idles sooooooooth as butter for as long as you want. All the life had come back to it. Now its not a fat happy pig, it's a fat kid at fat camp trying his hardest. This engine came back to life and is now far more responsive and efficient. My MPG has gone up significantly, probably 5 or more to the gallon. I did an interstate run for 150 miles to get my readings. THIS CHIT IS NO JOKE.

Sea Foam was originally developed for 2 stroke marine engines. What you did, was basically the same as dumping an entire gallon of kerosene into the gas tank. Plus it doesn't work as described, in direct injection systems.

It showed you had a perfect burn nice tan color!
