Apologies this week’s video’s coming late. I had uploading issues. But hey… what should I do with the leftover scrap fabrics? 🤔🤔🤔

💚💙💜 Juliet, you can sew placemates, handkerchiefs, or hand protectors for the oven, etc., with leftover fabric. 💚💙💜

Thanks for sharing your work. I had forgotten all about how nice a vest or a pinny (vest with open sides and tabs, or top part of a pinafore apron) works for trying out new fabrics while adding a clever piece to my wardrobe. I learned to sew as a little girl 60 years ago and vests and pinnies were a couple of the first garments we learned to construct, along with a gathered skirt and apron. I have been wanting to try out African wax prints so a vest will be perfect. You are lucky you only broke a needle from running over a pin. I ran over one during the week before Christmas one year while deep into making gifts for my four children and it threw the timing off the machine. I had to run it over to a sewing machine repair shop and the gentlemen told me it would be a week before he could get to it. I was so grateful that he then agreed to fix it quickly when I burst into tears over the thought of not completing the bathrobes for my kids. The hooded fleece bathrobes were well received and they recently have asked me to make them for the grandchildren. This time I started early and will keep my eyes peeled for pins. New subbie.

Please make it again ! It could be unisex I think ...such fun to watch you achieve your goal ...I thought maybe you could use the left over fabric to make two giant covered buttons on the front ? It’s so beautiful the fabric ...well,done ..

I like this idea of making giant fabric covered buttons with the leftover fabric. Thanks so much. Secondly, you’re right , the jacket will be unisex because there aren’t any darts at all. Thanks so much for watching 🎉

Hey sis, was lovely watching this challenge. I need help, I bought 5 yards of wax fabric but after watching your video on things to know about the fabrics I realized mine is not 100% cotton, so I wanted to ask if I have to wash the fabric first before cutting cause I really don't want to waste it.
@JulietUzor_
@JulietUzor_ 2 жыл бұрын
Of course, you can’t waste it now….. give it a good wash and use it to make something nice for yourself. Sometimes, these mistakes make us experts in finding the real deal. Best wishes, Juliet

It's happen to me that just tiny end of needle brake and go to bobbin mechanism ... I was lucky I have insurance bcs this small bud brake every needle and cause me have sewing exaiety.... and sewing was my happy place ... from that time I sewing with plastic glasses on my nose ...funny for some but I am scared it will repeat if I forget pins 📌. After that I both 1300 pins set in different colours so I see them when I sew colourful materials. Call me nuts but prefer have both eyes 👀.

I think as Americans we should be used to meter or yard. We are the only country that uses imperial instead of metric measurements!
