The battery will have degraded, the cameras are awful by todays standards, and the SoC's performance a fraction of a modern chipsets. Very few people who have need of a phone day-to-day would still be using this as a main. Fewer still if they are at all interested in anything else beyond simple communication and web browsing.

I still use a galaxy S6 (the standard variant) as a secondary phone. I can confirm it runs hot, but the phone is absolutely fine to use. A bit on the slower side, but does everything i throw at it. I even ran PUBG mobile on the damn thing.

My Dad is using galaxy j2 pro ( 2016 ) ...it still works really good , no lags , no battery issues ( he changed the battery 2 years back , original battery died after 6 years ) . And yeah camera is quite decent , tbh it's better than my Galaxy M02s . ( I know both are budget phones but yeah i was in 10th that time so i couldn't have asked for more as i wanted a new laptop too ) .

@@_AlanXD No cappin here but it's true lmao. I remember back in 2017 or 2019 when my Dad has an LG G5 and my mom has a Samsung Note 3. During our camping they set the brightness of their phones to 100% and look at that my dad got the brightest display of all. Yes LG made the brightest displays of all.

iPhone user here. I have seen comments blaming the creator of this video by saying that the final update always slows down the phone but I would say that is not always the case. I am using iPhone 8 and the last update it got was iOS 16 which was in 2022 yet it is running great without any issues at all. Samsung S6 was my childhood phone and I remember that it used to originally come with the Touchwiz OS and being a TechGeek, I can clearly tell by looking that the latest software on the S6 is Samsung Experience which Samsung had introduced for the sake of rebranding Touchwiz but this software was a disaster and worst OS produced by Samsung. Just after one version, Samsung discontinued the Samsung Experience too and OneUI was born! I honestly think that if you want to experience an older Samsung phone, you should use one which still has Touchwiz as Samsung Experience was an incomplete software which was a total mess.

I am using a Galaxy J7 max (literally typed this comment from it) and it works just fine for me. I have been living at home with my parents with nowhere to go to so this phone has been perfect for me. Yes, it works slower sometimes but the UI is still really good and I still adore my phone. I will have to buy a new phone soon because I am moving out, but I will miss this one, especially for that little home button.

Its not slow due to android 7 , its old and probably needs a new battery Swapping a new battery will give it a boost I remember s6 s7 were the early samsung which became fast with newer updates before that samsung never upadted their phones properly

I had to use my old Galaxy S6 edge 64 gigabyte for a week cuz my phone wasn't getting fixed and I couldn't find my old s9, so I ended up using my S6 for around 8 days and it wasn't too bad I think the worst part was the overheating but always the battery wasn't as bad as I thought it's raining the latest version it can get but I'm glad to be back with my s22 ultra😂

im still using a main phone running on android 8 though😭😭 its a somewhat newer model than the s6, very unknown but it’s a galaxy c9 pro, runs very fast occasionally, though it only lasts for like 4-5 hours when i use it normally, this is why i carry a 20000 mah powerbank with me everytime😂 love the type c port though

I've NEVER heard of the galaxy C series before, but I still use a Tab S3 that has its back glass adhesive melted from overheating that I downgraded to Android 8, SX 9.0 because it was absolutely unusable on Android Pie, 1UI1.0 lol I actually really love the look of the older Samsung Experience.. if only it had dark mode :/

old Galaxys were getting new Android versions in February-June while Nexus devices were getting new android versions in August-September. Galaxy S6 got the Android 7 update in march 2017 while Nexus 5X got the Android 7 update in August 2016 and it aslo got Android 7.1.1 in december 2016

I have an explanations to that okay it's slow but it's a 9year old slow which the most of the ram is used for the ram and the storage so i recommand flashing the oldest rom compatible with this phone staying on official samsung ones disclamer i did that on my galaxy j5 2017 and i haden't the test menu anymore. So if you want you can try third-party roms but they can boost your phone as well as they cans slow down your phone they have good and bad at XDA developpers but the major party of the roms are good ah and you will need a custom recovery and Odin to flash it. Otherwise good video and have a good one.
