The Copper Keep is probably more historically accurate than Castle. Castles were inhabited by a noble (or at least wealthy) family, where a keep was a military encampment and sometimes would be used for storage of _pillaged_ goods after a _raid_ on a nearby enemy target - something that certainly matches the contents of the not-shop!

Hey X, during the trial chambers stream you talked a lot about the inventory management and how bad it is on chambers, i rewatched the VODs a bit and i had some ideas that i think will make it easier and more enjoyable to do them: - No looting on swords, i noticed when you did the chamber with Cub as a "new player" that you did a few rooms before having a problem with inventory, and i think the fact you sword didnt have looting was one of them, since you already have a farm for basically every mob, looting on the sword just make the mobs drops, armours and weapons fill your inventory faster, so it may be better to just have a sword without looting similar to how when mining is better to use silk touch because fortune fills the inventory faster. - Try to not mine on the chambers for 2 reasons. First, the chambers walls around the player height has a few different blocks because of the decorations, so even a small tunnel can fill your inventory with 2 - 4 different items. Second, all the areas on the chambers are accessible with Wind Charges, i noticed most hermits just try it them once and just ignore after, but they are even better than blocks to reach high areas since you can reach up to 10 blocks with one and you just need a bit of pratice to use them, just by doing that not only you wont be gettting blocks from the walls, but you also wont need to carry blocks or ender pearls to reach the other areas, doing this you will be clearing 5 - 6 slots on the inventory. _ Bundles, this one is another thing i noticed a lot of hermits just dismiss when suggested because it doesnt seems that they are useful, but they are, lets use the trial chambers as an example, i counted 12 "unique" items that can stack but you dont get many in one chamber, they are: 3 pottery sherds, 2 armor trims, 5 ominous bottles, heavy core and enchant gapple, in the inventory the take 12 slots but you only have 1 or 2 of them, with a bundle you can keep all of this in only one slot, and by the time you finish the chamber you just empty the bundle in a shulker and it is ready for another chamber. I think by doing those things you may be able to do a entire chamber without needing to mange the inventory that much, maybe halfway you need to dispose the mob drops in a chest and put the items in the bundle, but that is a lot less work than what you have to do now.

I immediately love this idea! In my world, I tore down a lot of the columns and made space for iron golems, and I've placed 3-10 iron golems in each area depending on the number of spawners. It's very good to have help and it speeds things up :)

To borrow from my favorite video game reviewer, the thing I love most about Minecraft is its _ludonarrative dissonance,_ meaning: while it *strongly encourages* you to play the game in a certain way (trials are meant to be PvE tests of skills; wardens are meant to be an instant Game Over;...) you, as the player, are 💯 free to play it your own way, cheese every fight, automate every resource collection, with zero repercussions.

I love how evil the Minecraft RNG can feel. I didn't particularly want the Heavy Core but got three from my first five Ominous Vaults¹, whereas it took me *forever* to get the Flow trim and the Creator music disc, which I wanted _desperately._ Now that I have the Mace, I want the Wind Charge books, but after a half dozen trial chambers, I've only gotten one² (meanwhile, I've now got Flow coming out my ears). ¹I actually got my first Heavy Core before I got my first Breeze rod, lol ²The books are all Wind Charge I, meaning you need *four* for WCIII-I'll settle for just _one more_ book rn, because at least you can chain attacks at WCII (you can't at Level I).

I remember seeing etho use a similar piston and pressure plate setup in one of his earliest season 2 world videos for blaze something like 12 years ago and had honestly not really thought about it since! It's really cool seeing it be used again and just having that reminder that old designs often still work well - it's so easy to get caught up using whatever methods you're used to and not even think to go back to something basic.

Then you can shade the underside of any exposed leaf-branches, and even darker on the "shady side"* of the tree. (*assuming you decide that the sun is in a certain position, then "shady side" of the tree is the opposite side.) Otherwise, the shape & stuff is good :)

Is the chance of getting a heavy core affected similarly in the way the chance of getting a mending book for Grian was? I believe he said fishing loot was affected by the seed of the world and any time someone else got mending it would reset the loot chance. I haven’t finished the video yet so maybe you covered this already, I just wanted to ask the question before I forgot.

So yes and no. All Minecraft "RNGs¹" are now deterministic, based on the seed. So, if you're in a fixed-seed speedrun, you'll get the same loot performing the same actions every time. But someone's odds of getting a particular item is independent of what they'll get the next roll-that is, if the odds of fishing a mending book are 1%, it's still 1% for your next cast even if someone else _just got_ a mending book. Similarly, X saying he was "due" a heavy core is a classic gambler's fallacy-just because the odds of getting no cores from 15 keys is low doesn't make the _16th key_ any likelier to yield a core. _¹Ahkshully_ it's a _pseudo_ random number generator, almost certainly some variant on the Mersenne Twister.

Hey Xisuma. For the ominous bottle farm I found a setup and golem trap very similar to yours works a treat! If you ditch the water, run tracks for a minecart collection, and replace the lower level of oak planks with magma blocks. AFK where you currently do, use a bubble column to deliver bottles after filtering banners out, or hopper them a safe distance to collect. :)

You can swap the fences at golem-floor level for walls to prevent arrows going through. And you can drop the water collecting the pillagers one more level somewhat close to the center so it pushes them all the way to the bubble column.

Hey X, you should put copper bulbs powered by a pressure plate where you stand to pick up the trial vault loot. That way you'll know which ones you've been to. You could first go to all the ones that are off and then the ones that are on.

11:50 you could fix the issue with the pillagers not entering the middle right away by lowering the area around the soul sand by 1 and putting fences 1 below that so that the water flows up to the soul sand over the fences so that the pillages can be moved up onto the soul sand

I was honestly immediately sceptical when you showed the shape of the leaves on the trees, but i quickly came around when you gave us a good look on them. the mobs just spawn on netherrack with fire on top, thats what i did :) basicly encased every spawner in glass and let them die in fire, the loot comes out on top via item elevators, to the glass ceiling ur walking on :P the blazes are even more fun since they spawn midair and than fall down (in the lava ofcourse)

You can actually see what you are going to get just by holding the key next to it. The the vaults are see through and the items they are going to drop for you are shown in the vault, so you don't even need to waste your keys.
