YIKES! It appears that many people are not watching the video and instead just using the comment section as a venting board to express their personal disgust for tattoos. If you plan on doing that just know that the comment will get removed as this video is meant to shed light on something so much bigger than just tattoos in order to encourage people! If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all. 😊 In addition to that if you’re commenting the scripture in Leviticus, make sure you take all of Leviticus into account not just that one verse. ❤ The point of this video is that it’s not JUST about tattoos, it’s about an overall growth towards the things of God and away from the world and that looks different for everyone but should fall into that theme. 🙃🙃🙃

I have been kept from getting tattoos as well in my 41 years. But before coming to Christ I could see in myself a proclivity for something to show off on my body. I'm glad I confined it to mostly t-shirts. I think the problem is when we make our boast in our flesh. With tattoos it's just something permanent unlike clothing, hairstyles, etc. I'm glad also that while growing up in Bulgaria getting tattoos wasn't popular at all among my friends. Now it's everywhere really and it's difficult for me to keep my eyes away from conspicuous tattoos. Kinda like it's nakedness. If I had old tattoos that I no longer identified with, I would definitely try to keep them covered. But isn't it similar with scars or missing teeth? When we are less than perfect outwardly it's a struggle. I've recently found out for example that root canals can a be cause for serious health issues and I have three (I've developed a form of arthritis after haviing them done). So losing three teeth is something I'm still wrestling with. But I digress. I know God is more concerned with what's on the inside, in the heart, but still I don't think we should be too negligent with our appearance to the point it causes people around us to stumble.

This video shows a lot of Christian maturity and says a lot about your character. Well done! As I talk with young people about getting tattoos, I remind them that what is important to you now may not be so important to you in the future. I can think of a lot of things that were priorities in my youth that I no longer care about. A tattoo seems like a lifetime commitment, so ensuring that this is what you want to say about yourself for the rest of your life is important. As for Romans 12, I was challenged as a kid to memorized the entire chapter in fifth grade. That was way, way back in 1973. I still remember at least some of it, to the point where if I hear someone reading it then I'll immediately pick up that it's Romans 12. I am thankful that by God's leading you are able to see this text as something that you need to do. Perhaps your example should be a reminder to us all, myself included, to make this a priority in our lives.

I got a few tattoos and till recently wanted more and bigger ones but God has been removing this desire from me because as you said I was looking for some validation and my identity but my identity is in Christ Jesus - Yeshua. It's about everything as you said and God tells us in His Word. It's not just Tattoos but everything else inner and outer of the body- is it lining up with God's Word for His Glory and the motive behind it. Are we in full submission to God? Such great things to ponder on and God talking to us daily about. It is challenging and hard but God is helping us and I pray we all hear this and reflect and fully desire to submit to God in light of what He has done for us as you said. Lord Help us! We all struggle with different things but God is faithful to forgive us and help us live the lives He wants us to live for our good and His Glory. "Let love be our highest goal" as you said, that spoke to me and convicted me. We can only do it with His help and as we seek Him daily for how to live and walk in this world. Be blessed and encouraged Sister in the LORD! Thank you 🙌🙏❤😊 1Chronicles 22:19a "Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD Your GOD."

First time visitor here. God’s blessings and love to you and your family! I have been watching alot of videos of so many confused lost folks that seem to be just completely blinded by this world. Truly hating Christians and any form of godliness. Our country in such a mess it seems. Worse than ever. It is way refreshing and hopeful to see a video like this in which a young woman is just the opposite and wants to serve God. If family and this country has any hope of surviving, you, your husband and those who are like y’all are this countries only true hope in its citizens. Much encouragement to you and yours! You nailed it when you said the word “identity”. Misplaced identity (along with unrealistic expectations (rooted in pride)) is spot on. Our identity in Christ is first and foremost one of newness. We are new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Identity is defined as “the collective aspect of the set of characteristics by which a thing is definitively recognizable or known,” so our new identity in Christ should be recognizable both to ourselves and to others. As far as tats.. The Bible is pretty much silent on tats. I don’t like them, especially on women, because I think it just takes natural beauty away. And makes men look thuggy. But again, I don’t judge a person on tats or no tats. Its what inside and the inside change and sanctification that matters. As far as make up, there is nothing wrong with wearing makeup as long as it is done modestly and a Christian woman does not neglect her spiritual life like you mention. However, the Bible does say that women should adorn themselves in a way that is modest, sober, and shame-faced, and not with costly array or broidered hair. And yes LOVE is KEY… Have to be careful not to stray into legalistic attitudes though which underminds Gods love working through the believer. In other words, if I see a woman with tons of paint on her face and tats, I should not shun the person. Same for a tatted up man. Judge by actions and attitudes and what they truly believe and the fruits that come from that person. Judge righteously not piously. More to consider in this process… What is motivating the sanctification process? Love or compulsion to be perfect for God? The former brings freedom in Christ, the latter brings bondage and legalistic human efforts that makes us and others ultimately miserable. So something to always test and pray about. Otherwise we are leaning towards self righteous behavior. Some things to consider before tatting up ones body: Kids…thinking of getting a secret tat.. Children are to honor and obey their parents (Ephesians 6:1-2). For a minor to get a tattoo in violation of his or her parents’ wishes is biblically unsupportable. Tattoos born of rebellion are sinful. Concentrate on the inward you… “Outward adornment” is not as important as the development of the “inner self” and should not be the focus of a Christian (1 Peter 3:3-4). A person who desires a tattoo to garner attention or draw admiration has a vain, sinful focus on self. Whats the motivation… God sees the heart, and our motivation for anything we do should be to glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31). Motivations for getting a tattoo such as “to fit in,” “to stand out,” etc., fall short of the glory of God. The tattoo itself may not be a sin, but the motivation in getting it might be. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit… Our bodies, as well as our souls, have been redeemed and belong to God. The believer’s body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). How much modification of that temple is appropriate? Is there a line that should not be crossed? Is there a point at which the proliferation of tattoos on one body ceases to be art and starts becoming sinful mutilation? This should be a matter of individual reflection and honest prayer. Stumbling block to others… We are Christ’s ambassadors, delivering God’s message to the world (2 Corinthians 5:20). What message does the tattoo send, and will it aid or detract from representing Christ and sharing the gospel? Are tats an expression of faith… Whatever does not come from faith is sin (Romans 14:23), so the person getting the tattoo should be fully convinced that it is God’s will for him or her. The bottom line is that getting a tattoo is not a sin, per se. It is a matter of Christian freedom and should be guided by biblical principles and rooted in love. Fear God and count the cost! The cost is full of rewards in Christ✝️ Motivated inwardly by Gods love to share His Gospel in a loving way, amen.

As an artist, I really desired tattoos when I was much younger, but by the time I was old enough to get them something told me not to. It's like I have this instinctive feeling not to mark my body. I see nothing wrong with them. However, as you mentioned, we are already perfect, and everything else is an aesthetic. You speak a lot of truth in this video in general. Remembering God is like being at the summit of a mountain. Btw 12:43 Hair or spirit falling downwards? 😅

Thank you for sharing that! I like the way you worded this. Regarding your question, I’m not catching it 🙃 what do you mean?

@sarahspeaksup Top of your head (your right) there is a little light that trickles down at that timestamp. Maybe a loose hair or an angel 😉😊

Well Sarah, this was a beautifully said message. You are a truly born again women who has her priorities set correctly. Glad your on KZbin. I was in your position when i first got saved, but I got destroyed by an endless barrge of lies and confusion. If I knew somebody with your strength in the Lord, maybe things would have rurned out different for me. I have been trying ro get back into the graces of the Lord for decades and ti no avail. I probably forfeited my salvation around 3 years after salvation. I say thia to tell you to stay on this road your on and Gid will stay with you. Salvation us a gift and if i am reading the bible correctly, the gift can be recinded. To this day, He doesn't take me back. When I watched your video, I saw that I was where you are at now, but I am no longer. So do like you said in this video, and you will have a glorious welcome into His kingdom on that day. Keep posting.

I found out also about body building! that's a very tricky thing for Christian men! is it for health? is it for working in your, or your job call's for it? like a cop, or fireman, etc. or is it to be professional body builder reasons? or is it to show off your body to the opposite sex's? pray for Christian men and women, who like to be in a fit body and in sports, or just want to work out?

@@jrx2662 all comes down to motive. We must pray for the Lord to test our motives and reveal it to us bc we often lie to ourselves 🙃

I have been seeking God a lot over the last 4 years, recently I started exercising, lifting weights because my lifestyle of prayer had lead me to lose a lot of weight and muscle mass which made me feel quite insecure about my appearance. This last week I was struggling a lot in prayer and unable to draw near to God, I came out of prayer and lay down in bed and was telling my frustrations to the Lord about why I was unable to pray. He showed me that my body had become an idol and how my own vanity had become an issue for me that was creating a barrier between us. Since then I stopped working out and have grown much closer to Him. This issue is always about the heart, there can be nothing in the heart that comes between you and God, as even the slightest hint of idolatry divides the heart and makes it impossible to seek Him with our whole heart. Working out occasionally for fitness I don’t believe is an issue an I may in the future do a little bit of exercise to simply stay fit, but when it gets to the point of vanity it becomes sin, and even idolatry as it did with me.

@@EaglesNest1986 that's a real nice testimony, I'm glad that you came out and said that! it's important that others read what you said! because you can forget to Worship The Lord Jesus Christ! and worship your self! it's not easy to do good, but end up doing wrong, I found my self making excuses, to build up my body for my reason! it's always me that has the reason why I should build up my body! I had never asked the Lord for a reason why I should work out! but now I did! and the thought I got was for health reason! maybe ask The Lord Jesus, for a reason why you should work out? and please let me know what came into mind? keep the Faith! Jesus saves!

It's time to grow up in our thinking, and put selfish considerations aside. We must be able to consider things from the perspective of, the greater good! not our personal preference or bias, but what is best for society as a whole.

I had tattoos before I became a Christian also but the Bible is against it and so am I. Leviticus 19:28, which says, "You shall not make gashes in your flesh for the dead, or incise any marks on yourselves🙏

Hi Sarah Love your testimony. I am a man who is on the journey…my tattoos were much less about adornment and much more about being really meaningful moments to me, they represented different moments and events in my life that I believe shaped and formed my character, my story I guess. The day I broke and repented and surrendered to Him without condition or reservation, was the day my Tattoos and their stories ended…the chapter those wrote in my human timeline was finished, and a new chapter and timeline began, the one He writes for me, rather than the one I wrote for myself. Yes I still wrestle with things, I still am tested and tempted, but the direction of my choices, and life has flipped upside down. Everything the world brings me no longer is a trap to confine me, but rather an opportunity to overcome and develop me, to refine me, to shape me into what He asks of me…He never said it would be easy, He never said that we would be freed of pain or persecution, however He does promise that His inner peace is always with us no matter what the storm….for He is the Prince of Peace. Thank you Sarah for your testimony, you inspire many….He lives in you and it shows. 🪽✝️🙏

@@sarahspeaksupI think my comment might have been removed because I placed the link of the video I recommended to you. So the title is called “Godliness vs Legalism” & the KZbin channel is called “Theocast.” I found it very helpful for me to learn how to be godly without turning into a pharisee (as you mentioned towards the end of your video). I don’t agree with everything John & Justin teach but they are very good at explaining how we can & should be godly people without allowing that godliness to puff us up & us weaponizing it. Thanks for adding that part to the end of your video. I think it’s extremely important to know why we do what we do.

A brother in the Lord told me that when he was getting his 3rd tattoo that he felt like he was betraying the Lord. He was younger and influenced by the culture. I always stuck with: "Why don't you go to the gym and lift weights instead?"
