Your Dolgoch is really reminding me of my read of Railway Adventure. It looks like it's had some hardships in that old green livery, fantastic job.

Thanks. I've been using a copy of Railway Adventure to work out some of the smaller details (especially the cab and the cylinder lubricators) so it's good to know it reminds you of reading your copy.

Maybe try some coaches ? That could be nice with a running session of them models of these two .

Yes, I don't thing these are actually available as yet. The photos of Talyllyn they've shown so far are just repainted versions of the original model so have lots of issues. I've heard that they may be on hold while they redo the tooling for the cylinders (it's a plastic part and very oversized). Would certainly be interesting to see mine next to one, although not sure I'll be splashing out on one myself.

@@encoffeedrinker I am more of a N scale person than 009 But … it’s the same gauge of track … so there is a tiny possibility … but we never know until it happens ! I however am getting a Bachman N scale Percy . And if I do ever swap scales from N to 009 . He will make a brilliant Douglas kit on the talylln ! I mean westcliff world has a shell of TR no6 to fit said chassis . If I do swap scales I wouldn’t mind a Douglas . Tho … I never saw Douglas at the fourth awdery event … considering I was a year late to see her dressed up as Duncan Tho over the years I have warmed up to Duncan … I mean at first I hated him . But now I don’t mind him as much as before . I mean his genuin proportions are good and I like the rock n roll of Duncan from the tv and book series’ had real insperation from Douglas herself ! And hey. If Bachman have there talylln I can buy . Fourdees have dolgoch to paint and fit to the chassis , and fourdees too have Edward Thomas for the chassis I don’t intend on swapping scales again to 009 … as there is less stock to get … however the double farlie , Baldwin and the new talylln all look impressive . (Exept from the cab interior of talylln EUGH) she is a fine enough model However for now I am comtent as can be with N scale But if I dare change my mind . The diesels can be sold , Thomas put on display , percy converted to 009 scale Douglas & all the track can have each by one sleeper removed to make 009 rails . And the chassis of my stock can be re used with new resin body’s ontop So I have a plan C if I dare choose my mind again Tho not likely for some time now . Or ever . It’s the smallest possibility there is . But it’s a form of fire escape option if you will Tho for now I am content with my N scale models as they are Besides … it means I can try the plan of proper models of more kit building of peco models . I mean peco wagon kits and peco stations and the like Bachman can supply for the Thomas characters of percy and Gordon whilst kato supplies the rails and sleepers . And finally a grass Matt that is from a charity shop . And Dapol and grahamfarish ( extension of Bachman) for the engines . I have my eyes on a Dapol Stepney one day . I mean I would have preferred boxhill as she is my local terrier down york . But still Stepney will do . That’s the gameplan and for a possible Plan C I call it plan C becasue plan A was for 00 model railways through and through no questions . Then we moved house and plan B came to be with N scale and that all going from then on. Then if all goes bust we go plan C . Being 009 modelling and narrow gauge . Tho currently on plan B and … I do remember once bringing my old hornby Percy to a model train show once . All decked out in my channels logos and a boxvan for I guess what I thought were supplies to fix him and so on . A rail tour if you would . Like flying Scotsman . But Percy . And then he broke after that (I didn’t maintain him as I was new to these things then) then Bachman Percy 1 . Loved him and he is too on my channel . However I broke him and used him for parts . Then Bachman Percy 2 who is my third 00 Percy ever . He is still about and I clean him monthly . Whilst not running very much I care for his model lots . Think duke the lost engine and the line his driver and fireman cleaned and oiled him for the last time . As if I do take any engine to a model club for a run it would be Percy as he is small and easy to carry about , recognisable with a face up front so kids go oh look it’s Percy … whilst there parent mistakes it for oliver or something and get a lecture by there kid about Percy’s history 🤣 . And that’s the reason I keep my 00 Percy in good shape . Incase I need him to go somewhre for an event . Tho he can’t tetnically run on most layouts becasue he isn’t properly fitted with railway rules or nothing … but he is a fictional thomas character (ignoring Trojan) And hence he dosent need to be real . Tho I did once paint a open wagon line green and give it a small cardboard face and coal once for an event . As a unofficial tender for him to carry about … just so he metaphorically has enough coal for his two day venture to places when he is needed . Once he had to fill in for one of the clubs engines cuz quite litterally it broke and fell from the table . They had no engines spare so I offered Percy over night … apparently he did wonders . Tho whilst hornby Percy only went to two events with one documented . Bachman Percy had went to about 18 . Tho non as of recent … as he sits in a box getting cleaned and oiled every month . However the N scale Percy … I mean you can tell he is my preferred character by a LOOOOOOONG shot I adore him . Probably cuz how smooth his 00 one is and how good reviews of his N model I have seen . I hope to bring the N and 00 ones to the club … so if he ever is needed on a layout he is double the size of … no problem I have shrunken him to fit 🤣. Maybe I could make him his own lime green truck too for his own journeys . And I know photos will be taken of the two identical engines side by side . I mean I know Bachman have also made him for G scale . If I ever wanted to make a garden railway (when I get my own house) he will be on it by all accounts . I mean then he can serve all 3 scales at railway clubs . And yes I have seen Trojan in person before . You can guess my happiness 🤣 Anyways … I have talked for long enough now . That’s the plan for the stages of my model railways and my Percy rail tour event and how in a form of accidental thomasseeming story how he saved a excursion train at the last second . What do you think ?

Superb work! I turned one into smudger! So uh, are you gonna save the couplers it came with? Or are they up for grabs?

Doing Smudger is great and a little different, can't imagine there are many people out there who have gone that route! Not sure what I'm doing with the couplers for now. I've kept hold of them and can easily fit them if I want to, but I'm wondering about doing something a bit less obvious if I can. Not that I envisage these doing much in the way of pulling anything given other than the test track I don't currently have anywhere to run them,

Thanks! It's nice to know others think it looks good, as I'm aware that sometimes I think they look better than they actually do!

There's a couple of short clips included in this video (starting at 4:53), but if people are interested I could do a slightly longer video; it's a nice smooth runner as the original chassis is really well engineered.
