I will never understand why it is that people want to exercise their right to free speech by breaking the law of blocking traffic. An action that both turns the protest from legal to illegal but also makes enemies out of the people whose minds you were trying to change. Edit(9/11/23): Since this has been getting some updoots it made me think of something i want to add. Whatever happened to road *side* protests? If you get a big enough crowd, rubber necking drivers will slow down traffic for you, and you end up getting tons more eyeballs on the protest itself than blocking the flow of people past the protest. When you block the public road and traffic is this backed up, the honest citizens are now being forcibly held against their will. They can't turn around and go back. It is pretty clear that the majority of folks do not sympathise with or support such actions. This means that these actions are counterproductive and do nothing for the cause. Protestors should always be held responsible for the results of their actions, and should be liable for all costs and wasted time.
