I'm a disabled pensioner, I have to go on a Machine at night for sleep apnea. I also have severe back and leg pain which means walking ,standing and sitting for more than a few minutes makes that pain worse. I also have anxiety. I rarely leave the house except for appointments. One of the limited enjoyments I have are my tv, reading and computer games. I'm wondering if this coming winter I will have to sacrifice my sanity by saving electricity. Last winter we only heated the living room during the day. Also We've never had the heating on at night anyway. We cannot get pension credit as we are just outside the limit. Thanks Mr Starmer, while your in your cosy warm house and office this winter some of us will be suffering in more ways than one

I am 72, and get a pension of10,080 per year which is £776.80 every 4 weeks. Ive worked since i was 15 years old, i worked 7 years over my retirement age.my pension is low because I paid married womans stamp I pay full rent £340 per month, fulll single person council tax.£ 95 per month. I cant get pension credit because i have savings above the limit, i use my savings to top up my liiving allowance, we are defenceless against the government Who are quite happy to give donations to other countries, let others leech on our resources. While are ex service men live on the streets while certain people are given hotel rooms shame on them all. Well said Lee.

I'm so disgusted by this decision but at the same time know I can do nothing to stop it from happening that I've decided I'm taking action this winter. As a 48 year old man who works and can afford my bills I'm going to open my home as a place for local pensioners who can't afford to heat their own homes to come into my home and have a hot drink and keep warm. The good people of this country have always come together in the past in times of hardship and we now need to come together again because many of our elderly citizens will need our help this winter.

I have sadly lost my Grandparents, still have my Parents who are both pensioners, they don't need the winter fuel allowance, so some people may say 'well why do you care so much'. Simple: I don't want anyone who has worked their entire lives and live on a fixed income and planned to have enough money to survive now having their pensions robbed by tax increases and now a small allowance so they don't suffer through the winter. Of all the places to save money they target the most vulnerable in our society. It's abhorrent and I now have more and more respect for those Labour MPs standing against this joke of a Labour government. Now young people can experience what our parents suffered in the 70s.
