You're doing great! Everyone starts somewhere ... whether you're a kid learning to ride a bike or to read, or an adult learning a new skill, or improve our health. 10lbs? ... You should be proud of your persistence and determination! Really! Losing weight the healthy way goes slowly because you're also changing your eating habits. So, be sure to do it the healthy way ... no dangerous diets or week long fasts.

Like: Surgery is the lazy way to fix a problem with your knee or getting surgery for your eyes. Maybe some extensive training could fix them as well. (with shortsightedness eye gymnastic might work, but so do laser corrections). @@judekivWhat happens when you reach that number goal? It's comes a point in time where losing too much becomes unhealthy. Instead of focusing on a number focus on what a "healthy" person would do. Would a healthy person sleep at a regular hour or stay up late? Would a healthy person consistently eat late night snacks or eat fruits/drink water? If you focus on a healthier lifestyle then everything will work itself out. Focusing on a number will only set a number goal, you really aren't changing your *habits* for the long-term.

This is probably not the first time this boss has harassed caller about her weight. At some point you must stand up for yourself, one way or another. Sidebar: When listening to this call, I wondered if this boss had made comments prior to caller's 65lbs weight loss? If boss had not, then it is probable boss is trying to sabotage caller's weight loss because boss now feels threatened by caller's progress. Is boss concerned about her own position at employer? I mentioned to a close friend that I want to try the injections as for the last 10 years I have been overweight and obese, with losing a fair amount multiple times only to gain it back from binge eating when I’m stressed. Each year exam season I would get bigger, then lose the weight over the year, again, next season gain weight. Had a stress fracture from pushing myself on the treadmill. Well, it’s a lot of weight on the foot. Yes there are options, different exercise, swimming, diets. But can everyone stick to it? If they could there wouldn’t be so many of us overweight and obese. What’s the point of being obese for a lifetime and then develop diabetes/heart disease from it and then take the same things for diabetes. Why not nip it in the bud where the body might still recover? That was my thought process. I’m an active person, I walk 10k steps daily. But I do binge eat. My friend’s immediate blatant response was,”can’t you just stop eating?” 😅 I said I can’t, and that’s exactly what this medicine will help me do. Kudos to anyone wanting to change for the better, no matter what other people think may or may not be lazy! At the end of the day you are doing it because you love yourself enough to give yourself a second chance. People are more okay with Botox and fillers than with someone taking injections for their health.

imagine her "Christian" parents and family who shamed and abandoned her at age 15. This was 42 years ago so around 1980. It wasn't the dark ages. Never mind: she likely had not much idea was sex was about and easy prey for the advances. I think especially if young girls come out of unloving families (and her family must have been very much so) they are eager for attention. And a young female that can offer sex all of a sudden (and to her suprise) does get positive attention (by males no less - another thing with this communities that put the males over the females). All of a sudden she was important, so in exchange she went along with having sex. And whoever seduced her, had no idea how to get condomes and how to use them. To be fair, only after AIDAS really became an issue condomes were easy to come by and were sold at the supermarkets - even in rural and highly religious communities.

There are some great youtube channels where people share their weightloss journey and are not only facing the mirror but the whole internet. Might be a good idea to follow some of those channels and start feeling inspired and proud. Track the bloodwork so you have proof of the improvement and so its not just, I dont want to gain the weight back, but I like seeing my health improve and I want to live a long healthy life for my son. Work with a naturopath too or functional medicine as Drs are limited. Maybe get a fitbit and take a few more steps each day.

It's strange that parents will be so proud of raising their children and the challenges they conquered, but treat having grandchildren when they aren't convenient as a shame on their children. My half sister was 16, got caught stealing, was abandoned by the father of the baby, and my father slammed her for it. I told him if he was proud of himself for raising us under less than 'perfect' conditions then he should extend that opportunity to my sister or he would lose my respect and my sister wouldn't. He has a closer relationship with his granddaughter than either of his children and I'm proud of them both.

Body dysmorphia is insane. Karrena has done great to lose the weight but it is difficult to see the difference when you see yourself everyday. I’ve gained 15 pounds of muscle and I still see myself as not being good enough. I got a confidence boost a few days ago at the beach when I got told by multiple people how good I look. Listening to others, when they say you look good can be a really good tool in situations like this I feel.

If you stuggle with your metabolism get a naturopath or functional medicine doctor, get a full and complete thyroid panel done, sex hormones and cortisol testing. Breath test for SIBO if you cant gain or lose weight also. Carnivore diet works for a lot of people and puts a lot of autoimmune issues into remission within a few months and then start adding low inflammation foods back slowly once you feel better. Low fodmap if you have gut issues, AIP if you have metabolic issues.

When your body receives exogenous hormones, it stops producing them, just like guys who take steroids stop producing natural testosterone. Yeah this was a pretty good video. I relate - I weighed just over 180 by the time I graduated high school. I'm tall for a woman (5'9) but yeah I was fat 🤷🏽‍♀️ I got tired of always being tired having to move that much weight around (and also being viciously bullied for my thighs and weight) so after years of unhealthy BS dieting I left for college and made a conscious decision to lose those extra pounds and *commit to eating more fresh foods* . I lost 50-60 pounds and have successfully kept it off. Which is great! But I had mistakenly thought that losing the weight and getting a lean body would "cure" my depression I guess. That was an incorrect assumption 🤣 Did it help? Yeah, some. But that rain cloud always floating in the horizon over my head remains. Just like this lady, I still couldn't look at myself in the mirror. That luxury came after years of therapy and self work lol.

People who aren't obese often don't understand that emotional overeating is based on deep seated issues and often childhood trauma.. She needs not just shots but a good therapist to guide her weightloss and all the emotional challenges that can bring 👍 She might even feel scared once her extra weight is gone because it feels vulnerable.

She’s on the weight loss shot which can run $1000/month. She knows she won’t be able to take that shot forever and could gain most of the weight back once she stops taking it because she hasn’t actually built up the healthy habits to keep the weight off. Part of the journey of losing weight is the self love, self discovery, and self discipline you build up along the way. Can’t bottle that up and take it in a shot.

I'm not going to criticize her for using shots, however, using medication to lose only 150 lbs isn't necessary. If she needed to lose 300-500, maybe. The shots also allow her to ignore food choices, food portions and exercise and so, her way is not sustainable.

I think you are right, that is one of the hard facts of life. But we all can cultivate more mutual love in our lives. We can turn away from those people who are incapable of loving us even conditionally. And I think those we spend the most time with, should be those, who are able to love us with tolerance and grace, and we give them the same kind of loving-kindness back. It should feel good and relaxed to think about loved ones - or they aren't what we think they are. Because there is human love, there actually is!

Caller is under a physician's care; do you have a medical degree? You really believe you know more about a person's health just by listening to 1 phone conversation were she never mentions her exact medical condition(s) (like diabetes, PCOS, hormonal imbalance, etc.)? @jeromehenry4484 calling it a bandaid is not stating that it isn't helping her. A bandaid helps, which is why they exist. BUT the reality is for long term sustainable weight loss, diet and exercise will never be removed from the equation. Not only that but a physically active role in managing the weight loss can help her mind be more connected ro her body aiding in regulating the body dysmorphia it sounds like could be somewhat of an issue here. We know how important getting outside and moving is for our mental health and well being, and this is no different. Shots aren't going to replace that aspect, but inagree I'm sure it's helped her hga1c, blood pressure, cholesterol etc. And that's important! At 57 I doubt pcos is an issue as her ovarian function has essentially shut down.

Semaglutide (magic ingredient in Ozempic) has saved my life. In my 40s my body was breaking down. I’m a woman, 5’8”, and was 260 lbs. Prediabetic, high BP, obese BMI. Always hungry and and always tired. Did every weight loss plan you can imagine. Wanted to do surgery but insurance refused to pay. I was so miserable and felt like a failure. Finally a doctor got me on Semaglutide and things started happening. I still get hungry but am full with less. I’m not starving all the time. For the first time I can remember, I am in control of food and not the other way around. I am 182 as of today and hope to lose 20 more as goal. It’s taken well over a year… some people drop weight fast on it but I was not one of them. Which is fine; slow and steady wins the race. I track calories and am figuring out how much and what kind of food I need to function properly. Using medical help to get your life back is not lazy or an easy way out. My body simply cannot lose weight on its own, and that isn’t my fault. Just like a diabetic’s pancreas can’t make insulin on its own and needs medical support to function.
