Hi Jay, could you pls do a video on how to save and package a custom character with all the merchant resource textures and custom morphs. I've watched your videos about saving and packaging morphs and the props one but i'm confused about how to package a character. I also wanted to include the different materials for lips, makeups, eyes, etc. I couldn't find any videos on yt regarding this so It would be really helpful.

It's the same process as packaging a prop for the geometry. All morphs and controllers are saved automatically. The material options are just Material Presets (or these days more commonly Hierarchichal Material Presets, but either will work fine). Just make sure the textures are saved in the right place before saving them. I'm going through the process in the last part of my rifle rigging series: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2GtqGlvp82Ci6s

Just wondering, is the shaking animation on the Daz screen in your video (at about the 8:00 mark) a new feature in Daz or a result of the render being composited into the video? Thanks!

The idle animation of him moving around? I've animated that by hand with power pose, it's built into Daz Studio. I did render it out in Iray as part of the video, but you get real-time playback to a certain extend with Filament.

@@WPguru Thank you. I see that filaments are now easier to use, I'll give it a try.

Why is it that dforce G9 clothing autofitted on G8 can be simulated but a dforce G9 hair can't be simulated on G8? Is there a specific way to autofit G9 hair on G8 for it work?

Auto-fitting is a destructive process, and it has a habit of stripping out things from the original model (like rigging and adjustment morphs). Although dForce properties are stored as part of the surfaces that should remain intact, helper objects may be wiped out. Personally I would never try to auto-fit hair because it's usually more hassle than it's worth. Instead, load the hair prop as is (hit cancel when the auto-fit dialogue comes up), position it manually so that it lines up with your character, then parent the hair to the head of the figure. That way it'll move when you use poses, and the advantage is that all existing adjustment and styling dials are intact (and very likely all dForce functionality will survive). Hope this helps!
