24:10 I think you *did* actually fall off - you were close enough to the appearing block that it counted you as standing on it (so it made you let go of the vine) (at least that's my theory, of course not 100% sure on this lol)
@saraross839610 ай бұрын
"How can I learn to love A Link to the Past?" Think of it as Ocarina of Time, or rather the game that laid the foundation for it. The two games are very similar. Three pendants/spiritual stones to find, after which you get the Master Sword (which can be upgraded). Seven maidens/sages to rescue. Many items are the same. Zelda's theme/lullaby made its debut in this game along with Kakariko Village and its theme, as well as many other familiar things. You can defeat Agahnim with the bug net like you can beat Ganondorf with a bottle. There are so many similarities that I can't list them all, but as a last one that I will mention, Cuccos appear for the first time, and yes, you can pester them. In some ways, it is definitely more difficult than Ocarina of Time (the Ice Palace can be a nightmare), but it is an excellent challenge. I hope you complete it one day. On the plus side, many of the dungeons can be done in any order you choose. When in the Dark World, I like to do 1 (has to be done first as the rest are inaccessible otherwise), then 4 because it has the item you need to get the first Master Sword upgrade. Sure, it's a bit inconvenient skipping the hookshot in 2, but I'd rather have increased damage to deal.
@6O8gamer0710 ай бұрын
LTTP is so good. OOT is literally just a 3D remake of that game but with less ability to choose the dungeon order. Although I do like doing the Fire Temple first just to mix it up. Tbf though I think Majora’s Mask is by far the better of the two N64 games 🤷🏻♂️

Nobody "just gets level design". It's work. HARD WORK. Levels like these take weeks to make, if not months and are based on skill that is acquired over years. It's a rough process of making, deleting, experimenting, testing, getting brutally beaten down by negative feedback and then start all over again. To say that some people just have a gift is an insult to their hard work. It's the same as when people say "You're so talented at drawing, I could never do that" when they actually spent years of daily practice to acquire that skill. You're not unable to do something because you lack "the gift" or "the talent", you are just too lazy to learn it. Sorry for being slightly negative but stuff like this triggers me to no end.
@clcallag10 ай бұрын
While I do believe some innate talent is necessary to be great at any endeavor, I absolutely agree about the willingness to put in the work being an enormous aspect as well. Stephen Sondheim has my favorite quote on the subject: “What I've found out and what I believed is that everybody is talented. It's just that some people get it developed and some don't.”
