The problem with a product like this is that the vibrations from the speaker can mess with the accuracy of the turntable, or even slightly damage the record.The spring didn't seem to do anything.

I don't think vinyl is a nostalgic thing. I always thought it was a high fidelity thing. You get better sounding audio than a compressed digital audio file.
