Dude, I'm super happy with my Grand Design so far. Only had it a couple weeks but what an upgrade over my NoBo. I've got it parked at one of the local lakes but we have a cold front getting ready to hit. This Transcend is really cool and I absolutely LOVE how they did the bunks. What a neat, versatile model.

They are trying, there's a lot of situations that this would cover, love the kitchen How about this you do away with the bunks all together, leave it blank, and put in an office? Leave the top bunk, mostly staying in the up position, but picture a wall to wall desk top, with 3 screens, turning into a super office!!!! Great jon Josh, great product!!!!

I lLOVE this for a small family or Couple! This is one of my favorites for recommending to my daughter, her husband and 2 kids. They just need to wait till the kids are old enough to NOT fall out of the bunks lol. AND when they can afford it and also a tow vehichle.....lol. Also, WELL DONE with the ROKU SMART TV AND OUTDOOR KITCHEN CONVENIENCE CENTER, Transcend!! AND THE STORAGE! Beautiful model!

I really like this because it gives you bunks and a big bathroom. They also did an excellent job at giving you storage space. Maybe 2 wishes a cabinet under the tv for a mini pantry space, and a vaulted ceiling for a little more head room.

Hey Josh just finished signing the papers on this unit. Unbelievable space with the slide out and road accessible for the "old guy" that makes a pit stop about every 100 miles ! 😜 Thanks for the review which both my wife and I watched multiple times then found a unit within 75 miles of our home in Monterey County. Thank you so much for all the info. Now we can do some boondocking with our furkids. This is just what we wanted but couldn't find anything in the prior 2022 years that would be perfect until we saw this video. I would've bought from you but that's a little "fer away" ! Keep up the good work and helping people find their dream RV. Be safe ! 😎

@@JoshtheRVNerdwe just purchased this RV about a month ago. Just curious if you happened to notice when you were testing it out, did the bathroom sink drain to the black water? Ours does and we were told that that’s the way this unit is plumbed. If that’s the case, I do not want this trailer any longer because the wastewater tank is only 39 gallons And the bathroom sink, being the sink with the strongest water pressure, would lose a gallon of water just washing your hands for 30 seconds. That would fill up your wastewater tank very quickly and if your Boondocking, that is not a good thing.

Proud returning member of the #nerdherd I really tired to love these Transcends but I can't get past the aluminum steps, carpet in the slides and the darker brown decor. You could replace the aluminum steps with satble steps and put a cargo box in the space though. The exterior appearance is a favorite of mine and the fully enclosed docking center is awesome in this class. Appreciate what they have done with this floorplan. No edits bro, a flawless Josh just wouldn't be the same. Thanks Nerd!

I absolutely love that the bunks are out in the open... DOG BEDS!! Is there any other floor plan with bunks side ways? I remember one once a few years back but I can't remember the maker. Would be even better if the bed was down and had a front windshield, but that's just me. As for the suggestion to put a block to make a true queen... BRILLIANT!

Sal (the theater seat guy) WOW! This floorplan is awesome. The only draw back is the lack of hanging clothes space, BUT, I would use the bottom bunk for pets and put a rod up over the top bunk. I would have to see one in road mode personally as I am a fluffy guy but this looks awesome. The camp side coverage looks good.

I'm with you I like this for the layout with the bunks, my only peeve would be with the mini fridge in the camp kitchen. Can't really say it would be accessible for me, as far as practical use, height wise, but I would have to do a walk through; maybe take the outside fridge out and use as extra storage? Overall, I dig the kitchen, I agree that it would be nice if they had one extra window on the camp side if, I were being nit picky. :)

I love the non-coffin bunks and the versatility they bring to the camper. I'd option a dinette instead of the theater seat though, just my own preference. I also like the fact that there is a lot of storage space in the bathroom. It's too bad they still have carpet in the slide though. And they missed the opportunity to add book nooks with outlets behind (or in) the hanging closets. Road mode looks like I'd have to try it out for myself but it might be doable.

I really like this. I could always put my own privacy curtain up by the murphy bed. My son is 6, 3" but just cause he is tall isn't a deal breaker. I am not a fan of the you call the dealer for pricing. People have been programmed to just move on if the price is not available on line. That is what I learned years ago working at a car dealership. BTW Happy Birthday 🎉

Very interesting layout! Not sure if I like the bunks or not. Gonna need some time to think about it. LOL I think for something like grandparents, as you mentioned, where the kids camp with you infrequently, it makes a lot of sense. Love all the counter space, tons of bathroom storage is great, too. I really like the fully enclosed docking station. I wish that was more standard in the industry, everything in one spot, and secure on top of that. I definitely don't like the brown cabinetry and the brown fridge covers. Lighter is always better. If not white, maybe a beige, or light gray.

I like this a lot, length makes it friendly for tighter national park camp grounds while still having many "bigger" rv features. Curious to know more about the bunks. What is the length of the bunks? Also what is the weight capacity of them? Lastly can you sleep in them in "Road Cracker Barrel mode"? Also curious if the dinette option will block access in road mode vs the sofa here. I like the design for the most part . It would make a good trailer for going to stock car races because we spend more time outside of the camper and use it for sleeping and preparing meals. The large awning is always a plus along with the well thought out camp kitchen. I use a collapsible tub as my wash basin when camping in my kitchen area currently so that set up works for me. The road mode is amazing. My next trailer needs better access to the bathroom & kitchen with the slide closed. My only 2 complaints is the lack of a pantry (it does have alot or cabinet storage though) and the lack of a curtain around the front bed. Keep making Rv walk-through videos like this - they are amazing

All they had to do was locate the entrance door hinge on the left of the aperture, so the door could swing out towards the middle of the RV - that would have eliminated the problem with it banging up against the awning struts. Also, they could have relocated the outdoor LED light centrally between the speakers - so it would illuminate the outdoor camp-side area more effectively.

This is awesomely innovative but... Where is the dining space or table? Also would need the bunks wider to fit my 4 kids. We have a 2020 19DBXL Wildwood X-lite that works for our family of six but not enough walking room. However it does have the full size bunks and the dining space works for them.

OMG OMG OMG! I am in love! I never thought I'd like a trailer (under 28 ft!) as much as the Jayco Jay Feather 26P we had years ago, but this ONE??...WOW - I LOVE IT! We are trailer shopping again and trying to see all that is out there. Found this one today and LOVE it. At the same time, I am bummed it's not shorter, because due to garage height, we will have to keep a trailer under 11 ft (which is hard to do these days!). So this doesn't make the cut for that reason and I want to cry :( If anything similar comes out UNDER 11 ft, I will be harassing my husband for it! In the meantime, let the quest for the perfect trailer continue!

Thanks for sharing, Josh - I love your videos! I also love the ingenuity of the layout, especially as the bunkbeds could also function in the living space as seating areas. So much room in this layout, too. After seeing a few of these models for sale, I’ve noticed that the information Grand Design lists on their website is different for the GVWR and the Dry Weigh; Grand Design’s website lists the GVWR and Dry Weight as 7,495 lbs and 5,462 lbs, while the stickers for the models listed for sale say 6,995 lbs and ~5,800+/- lbs., respectively. If my math is correct, that leaves approximately 1,200 lbs for all the cargo carry capacity. In your opinion, is this enough cargo carrying compacity for a travel trailer of this size?

For the size of trailer I think this does a better job of the bunk house than the ones with end entry bunks. With the how its organized you have an area for the kids where they have more vertical open space allowing them to sit up without fear of knocking their head. As grandparents we would not want a trailer like this. We have the grandkids out with us on occasion but with the infrequency we would rather have the space be laid out for us and convert a dinette or couch to a sleeping space when they visit. Also as they get older I expect they will do the cool thing and sleep outside in a tent as I did many years ago when camping with friend's families. Nice kitchen counter top shape and size. I would like to see doors or cargo nets on the open shelves on the door side. The high rise faucet in the bathroom is a good change. I wish all of the manufacturers would go with something like that and get rid of the cheap low rise faucet they all seem to use. Overall one of the nicer and unique family trailers I've seen.

It’s SO CLOSE to being perfect. One change and this is the perfect family unit. Take out the exterior kitchen so that you don’t lose that space in the bathroom. If you are large, or if you have little kids, that extra 3 feet in the bathroom makes a huge difference. Take this slide, with the couch and the bunkbeds, and stick it on the 2600 RB by imagine and you would not be able to keep the trailer on the lot. Every family with small kids would flock to it.

Still not a fan of Murphy beds but this one might be doable if the bendy bed is comfortable. Do like having a bedroom with a door but biggest strike against a Murphy bed is you usually have to choose bed or seating since you can't have both at the same time because the bed covers the sofa. With the recliners instead of a dinette you can now have both. Important thing for people like us where one person stays up much later watching TV than the other. Had our Transcend Xplor 245RL for a year now and we love it. Just another reminder (I think it's reminder #37 😃) that we are still waiting on Uncle Josh to review one and get your thoughts on them. I'm very insecure and need your validation of our selection.🙄🙏

I've now seen a few of these Transcend Xplor units in the last month or so in the southeast, and my initial concerns have been validated. These RV's attract a ton of sun unnecessarily with the dark front cap, slide side walls, and bulk of the siding. This definitely has a good look, but it's just continued evidence that manufacturers do all of their designing in the cold months, or don't think past their own region in regards to temperature ( currently 94F with a "RealFeel" of 115F as I'm writing this ).

According to the Grand Design specs this has a 60x80 queen. It says that 2x when looking at the spec in their website. How do you deal with that door-to- awning issue? Do you just accept that, eventually you're going to need new awning arms? That seems like a major design flaw. Throw a 50 amp service with 2 AC units and this one is about perfect. The bottom bunk, for us, would be a dog bed and the top would be storage. How long are the bunks?

We have a 2018 Rockwood Roo and we’re looking at this model and a Rockwood Mini Lite 2509s. We feel like the 235BH might be a step down, quality wise. Our next RV has to be our last one. Are we mistaken? We are worried about the water leakage possibilities at the corner seals. Other differences from the 2509s: no rear door in the 235BH , crappy tires on the 235BH that will have to be replaced right away, no slide topper on the 235BH from the factory so we'd have to have our dealer add one. We are the grandparents you’re speaking of. The 235Bh is so cool but it's hard to beat the 2509s

I like this camper. The lack of at least a privacy curtain for the Murphy bed is a bit of a point of contention for me. I'd also prefer a traditional dinette instead of the theater seats. If you're going to watch TV in this model, you can sit on the murphy in sofa mode. The dinette must be available though because the floor plan you showed at the beginning showed the dinette not the theater seats. The whole point for us in a Murphy bed is to be able to have a sofa in a smaller camper that has a dinette and not a theater seat or other kind of sofa.

absolutely love that bunk house design/location. I want a couples model but I've got big dogs so I'd use the bottom as a dog bed and the top bunk for extra storage. And if someone tricks themselves into coming with me can just use it to sleep. The curtains are a nice touch too. Fits on the back of my Ram easily. The bed being able to be left down is a huge thing to me. I'd just swap out for a proper mattress or cut a big foam topper out to fit. Always like the look of transcend stick and tin with that grey shading. This made the shortlist. Random thought: WOuld that storage above the kitchen be large enough to hold a combo washer dryer? I would want that especially when I go to fulltime status. Thats something I want but not a deal breaker More random thought: Can the door just be opened the other way? Like is there something stopping them from just flipping it to save the arm on the awning?

Just curious how “easy” is it to replace the traditional toilet with a composting one? I’m assuming this is a little easier with one that hasn’t been finished yet, like one that you would order that’s customizable. I’m guessing the ones that are used but fairly new, that change would have to be done by the new owner. This is one of the things that I will be doing once I purchase and not sure if the fix-it guys at the dealers would be able to do this and yes I’m sure for a cost but just curious if it’s doable.

It's....different. How long are those bunks? Take the top bunk out and add the pad to the bottom one and it becomes kind of a daybed or window seat, put in a full-length curtain to hide the space when wanted. No pantry is a negative, and they wasted the space under the chunky counter by leaving it open. Carpet needs to go. Very puzzling they didn't even put in a curatain for the front bed. Tankless or standard water heater?
