Hey Masonimous, I'm new to your channel, this is the first video I've ever seen of you. The thumbnail ended up caughting my attention, I rarely comment on videos but here I am. All of what I'm about to say is mostly my opinion, and I am so sorry if I sound stupid. As a small artist, not a professional or anything, I've always wanted to become a KZbinr despite looking like a waste of time. I have no idea what you are currently going through, but if it is a burnout, I just wanted to tell you to not overdo it.

If you feel like you have to take a break from drawing, continuing your comic or animating, you can do it. I didn't find the video boring and in my opinion, overall, you don't seem like a boring KZbinr because you have true potential. Sometimes people really don't know how to gather attention, I'm truly terrible at it too, but I tried to watch all of the video and repeat some parts of it. Making a comic or an animation is truly a special talent, even if it's not good or unfinished, I've wanted to make a comic or animations of my own characters but turns out some things are really, really hard. But you have the talent to make one!

Getting to the actual point, as you said in about 6 minutes into the video, and I think that having a KZbin to promote your comic is truly awesome You just gotta find the right viewers though. The podcast idea is just as good, and I honestly hope you and your comic gain the attention you deserve. But again, if you're really tired and impatient, don't force yourself to do the things you don't want to, take a break from it and come back whenever you feel like you're ready.

Pushing as much episodes out isn't really good for you nor anyone else, it might be good to gain more attention from time to time, but you'll tire out and that's terrible. To get monitized, you'll still have to go through a lot, but uploading constantly isn't really the way to go. Hopefully one day, one of your videos blow up, t didn't happen yet but it will if you just believe it. And hey, making video games is a great idea! I'm trying to find the right words, I just feel like commenting because no one did, I just want to get to know you better and I genuinely hope you reach the right audience soon.

Last comment before I go, your drawings are incredible dude! I'm sure you'll be get what you want soon, and I'll try to somehow find the demo of the game! My laptop and everything else is a potato, but I'll try my best to support you somehow. Good luck!

@@4preventionn I appreciate you taking the time to write all of that and watching the video several times to respond the way you did. That's very rad! I noticed my biggest flaw is impatience and for the longest time, I felt like I was running out of it. From the start, I felt like I could do anything if I tried hard enough but the longer I go, the more it feels like it's way above me. Or at least it's more than what I can do with my limited knowledge. It's what happens when you jump head-first into the unknown. Weirdly enough, I still feel like it's all happening for a reason. It is better to deserve honors and not have them than to have them and not deserve them. I also added a link to play the demo in the description. :)

Some thoughts I had because it seemed like you're looking for other viewpoints Money/Comics: The problem with making money from comics is all the work is front loaded and the large monetary payoff happens with like 1% of series after all the work has been done. so you NEED synergies with other activities to make it viable. I am planning my own comic, unfortunately I don't see myself making any money with it, at least not directly. The skills I will learn making it is what I'm valuing. In the hopes that if i spin together enough things with overlapping and synergistic skillsets I can create a strong foundation for all future endeavors. That's just me though Burnout: Make sure not to try and push through burnout, Navigating around it or simply taking a step back much healthier. You will be much more productive that way. And what I mean by "navigating around burnout", is Identifying the source and addressing that so you can continue with what it is you want to be doing without carrying all that extra weight with you. But sometimes you don't have the energy to do that or you simply can't identify where those feelings are coming from, that's when a break is needed so you can come back with fresh eyes. It's easier to prevent burnout than it is to recover from it KZbin Algorithm: Rewards audience engagement and returning viewers. the Spiffing Brit has a video on how this system works and how it can be exploited to basically order a hit on someone's channel, by buying ads that direct a mismatched audience to the persons channel causing a spike then drop in viewership, KZbin's algorithm hates that. (I don't know if anything has been done to mitigate that, it's a little scary) you can recover from it but it takes time. Austin Mcconnell recently stopped his yearly shoutout for channels under 1,000 subscribers because it would do more harm than good for them Personally for the type of videos you make I'm wondering if a slower upload frequency might actually preform better. What I think the current KZbin meta is are videos and shorts that become a habit for the audience, daily easy escapism or outrage. I think that's what KZbin wants not necessarily what you would want to, or need to make. A lot of the growing channels I'm subscribed to upload weekly, some even longer but going that long they may be growing in spite of the infrequency not because of it. (This video was recommended to me in my home feed, which sign that the algorithm is testing out your videos right now) Just my current read on things in the hopes something I say is helpful. Also your game looks cool

You're right when it comes to the comics needing to synergize with other activities. The comics are usually the starting point and everything else expands from there. Being the motion comics or the games that I'm working on. I wouldn't recommend a plan where someone gets exposure from making a comic. But exposure from a medium that people want to fund without needing to be an established figure. The whole "Burnout" thing is more or less clickbait because I can identify the problems and change my strategy. The issue is that I haven't found the practice that will give me the desired results. I think my impatience has helped me many times from feeling like I'm punching a brick wall, waiting for it to crack. I'm gonna still make the comics because that's how I cope with a lot of things. I just don't have to go so hard on making new content because I feel like I have enough material to adapt and recycle for other mediums. My KZbin strategy was posting as much as I could to build a backlog so people could binge-watch my videos and live-stream to raise my watch hours. My issue with that is viewer retention is always low and this video honestly has the greatest metrics so far. Mostly because I think people like watching content crapping on KZbin, I've been trying to find the right metrics to hit KZbin's organic algorithm but my impatience is getting the better of me to the point where I don't take as much time editing because the longer I edit, the more diminishing returns I'll get. "I think that's what KZbin wants not necessarily what you would want to, or need to make." The funny thing about that is that I have no idea what KZbin wants out of me. Or what I can make that will push to other people. There's always a disconnect when people like what I make but the algorithm stops testing the video. In theory, people say KZbin is gathering information to find the right audience to push the catalog onto and I'm over here thinking, "Dang, 1200 videos with over 100,000 views and that's not enough?" But watchtime is the most important factor. Thanks for leaving a comment and playing the game!

@@masonimous "people say KZbin is gathering information to find the right audience to push the catalog onto" From my understanding this is a little inaccurate, the goal of the youtube algorithm is to optimize the amount of time people spend on youtube so it's looking for the videos most likely to increase the viewers time spent on youtube. It can end up with the same result, but there is a distinction. Also i watched the video for the game last night, I played it today. The hammering section, you really got me with that last hit XD I unknowingly gave it the perfect comedic timing
