Devang Thapliyal is one of the best travelers, an adventurer, biker, and a Himalayan Rescuer in India. He continues to tour around the country and at the age of 27, Devang is a man with many wild experiences.
We spoke about the UNEXPLORED stories of the Wild like never before. Devang has previously faced a life-and-death situation with one of the wildest animals present in the Himalayas - the Snow Leopard. More of this story is also explained on our Hindi podcast with Devang Thapliyal - The Ranveer Show हिन्दी 33, one of the most loved pieces on that channel.
Being a Himalayan expert and rescuer, Devang has had the immense experience of mindsets, perspectives, travel, the environment, the wildlife and so much more. In this particular episode, we deep down on a few of the most memorable stories that he has experienced as a Himalayan Adventurer. We speak about meeting Himalayan Masters, Wild Encounters, Evidence of the Yeti, the survival at the top of the mountains, and more.
If you enjoy such rich conversations just like this one, do let us know. Enjoy this episode.

After listening to this, I don’t want science to get closer to Himalayas. I just want us humans to let Himalayas just let it be. Unexplored and magical. I guess that’s the least we can do to protect it.

Quite in consonance with what S.N. Balagangadhara wrote of our epics, too. We need not test them before the bar of empirical veracity, else, we risk destroying a mode of transmission of knowledge vital to our culture. It does not matter, for instance, if events of the Ramayana indeed occurred, and we must not even hunt for evidence that it did. There is no need to laicize them. Let the sanctitude of the Himalayas not be eroded. We may explore, for the purpose of science, but not abuse the region.

I want to dig Himalayas and create dams and other constructions right there... what's wrong girl?? I can't understand it. Just leave some areas reserved for animals. If you don't disturb the ecology of some area some other animals or nature itself will disturb the ecology in time. So it's not a big issue as people think too much about it.

Devang is the first person who pronounced 'yeti' as 'यती' ! यती was elder brother of king yayati (ययाती) who gave up his life of prince and turned into a sage in Himalayaa. When he once returned to the kingdom he had very long hair and beard which ran till his feet which made him look as if his entire body was covered with grey hair. After that one visit to his kingdom he went back to Himalayas and never returned. If I remember correctly it is also said the he is immortal like ashwathama. I always keep wondering if the lore of yeti started with prince यती and continues to do so even today.

Often Nepal is recognised as himalaya country not India just do few research in earlier days too we were recognised as himalaya kingdom during time of hindu monarchy. Our upper part is fully covered by himalaya by which we share border with China. Nepal geoprahy is divided in hilly mountains and terai but only 17%consist terai rest of the part is hill and mountain which is more than 80%.

This was so interesting. I travelled to Nepal or Tibet during a healing session. Actually it was an Access Consciousness session. Please be assured, there are many of my generation who equally love and respect the earth, just as there are many of the younger generation who are lacking in that consciousness and whose god is money. For as long as I can remember, I've been delighted by nature. We are just as horrified at all the destruction caused by global companies.

Loving all your podcasts Ranveer! Just love love listening to all the mythological / spiritual stories & about supernatural beings..In this day & age, with all the growing influence of rational scientific views of the world. You hardly come across people who are interested in learning or understanding the symbolism behind our Indian mythology 😑 so Thank you very much for coming up with such topics. Really appreciate it! 🙏

There are no Cougars in India. You might have seen a Lynx, or a Jungle Cat. Also the mysterious animal, might have been a big Monitor lizard (very common in Himalayas). If it was a mammal, it could have been a Himalayan Civet, or a yellow throated marten.

I wouldn't type anything regarding this as paper wise u r right but I have seen American eagle in southern India and. Cougar in East , so paper knowledge is a helpful guide but not everything else sadly many people make their paper knowledge with 0 exploration and raw research , now all are Google based degree holders which are certainly right but not everything is right nor it has reason and solution to everything in it . It can show what problems u might have and have what are best possible solution for that problem not best solution for YOU Nothin less Nothin more
