I ve just sold my 100 Oz Silver. This is a video about the experience itself and with the pro and cons to it.

Good honest video, thats why i don't have any 1oz silver coins or bars anymore, for a young man maybe for the long term but for a old geezer like me its a no no 😀 gold is what i want, thats what makes you money and is so liquid, good swap you've done the right thing in my opinion 👍

Exactly. I stopped hoarding silver. Gold and platinum is what I buy and hold. Add in Canadian banks, railroads, power and utility companies, emergency cash, term deposits, and real estate. That's my portfolio.

IMO you made a wise choice Sir.. I believe in both gold and silver with a ratio of 75% gold and 25% silver. Nice to transfer to gold and those phoenixs are super nice. Saving in silver can be a super useful way to do that. Don’t worry about the loss, people lose money on all sorts of things that lose value dramatically (cars,clothes etc). Yes you’ve lost a little but we learn and you’ll recoup that in gold value that you’ve now got. I’ll be selling some of my silver to convert to gold too. Gold is best, thanks for the video darth 😊👍🏻

Stop thinking and save money to purchase.You will regret selling your silver to purchase gold.Have a garage sale or go junking and buy gold with those proceeds 👍

I think you did ok. It is ALWAYS good to sell silver and buy gold but maybe you could have timed it better for more value. Anyway you can always buy more silver. Always buy and sell according to the market at that time. You can't ever predict which will go up and which will go down but if you follow the GSR you will know at the time which is holding more value. When you sold silver and bought gold the GSR was probably close to 90 really making silver a better value. But right now even with gold at all time highs silver is doing slightly better and GSR is heading for 80. Still makes silver a good buy or hold but at 80 it takes less silver to buy 1 oz of gold, so a better time to buy.

@@MrKiwi13605 I get you, you are right but the hard reality is that in practice when you buy silver at £30 or £ 32 a coin, is hard to get your money back if you sell in the same year. You ll have to hold that silver for about 5 years in order to make some profit, which I was not willing to do this time. But yeah, I do get what you are saying. 🍻 Cheers bud

I have a few of the modern pink sovereigns. Especially the platinum jubilee and memorial sovereigns. In my humble opinion they look way better in the physical than the pictures. The images that the royal mint use are not exactly flattering to the coins. You would not even think they were made from the same metals. I don't understand why they are marketing them in that pink colour when they are much closer to the US gold eagles. I have held both these Sovereigns and gold eagles side by side, they really are close, not exactly the same but close.

Not if you fully understand what he’s trying to do. Trading silver for gold might seem silly but buying gold with fiat is actually more expensive. Silver & gold are constantly fluctuating but steadily increasing in value. Fiat is consistently falling. Having a foundational stack of silver, and a secondary stack strictly to trade for gold, then replenishing it isn’t a bad idea in the long term. At minimum you now have gold which is never a bad thing.

I would've sold everything or traded what was left for a couple tubes of government-backed bullion, generic rounds or a 100oz bar. I got rid of most of my random silver for gold earlier this year. Then kept the silver I have in bulk where I have 400-600oz of the same 1oz round or 10oz bar. I don't regret converting to gold at all or not saving a few peices. With a bunch of random silver the packaging and figuring out how many ounces I had was annoying and the main driving force behind that decision. Now its easier to know I have this many ounces of silver and this many ounces of gold because I just buy more of the same exact coin or round :)

Honestly, I get the logic. Silver has been in the doldrums for a long long time and gold has been active since what seems like forever. However, seeing silver broke $30 in April/May and currently ran up quite fast now too in the 30's I'd stick it out with my silver. Personal belief is by the next rate cuts and time forward we'll see the gold to silver ratio go down, but only time will tell. If you are happy about the decision then go for it. I buy both, but gold always keeps much liquidity while silver is/was a long game.

Your stack your choice what you do with it, I tend to steer clear of those £200+ pieces of silver and proofs , I just don't think they are a good investment and there are too many nice proof like bullion coins like the Perth mint coins, the prices I pay for my items are prices that I could get back tomorrow plus profit. You were probably a little impatient selling at a loss but then again, with gold prices going up, of you'd waited longer to buy the gold, it would have cost you more I guess. I don't subscribe to this apocalyptic world scenario where we will be running down the street with our stacks and gold is the answer. I get far more enjoyment collecting, researching, 65 different 1oz silver for same price of 1oz gold.
