It has 2k resolution, 3 different FoV angles, auto-focus and built in privacy shutter, plus the AnkerWork app is great.

Insta360 2C looked the best. FaceCam looked wayyyy green. Why does 4k60 matter? Why does 60p matter for a stream cam anyway? Gameplay, absolutely capture it at 60p+, but for your camera 30p is plenty. Still stream at a canvas that’s 1080/60, but you don’t NEED 4k60 for your main camera, OBS will interpret it alongside your gameplay just fine at 30p

Just an FYI and I'm not sure if it's all android phones but my Pixel 6a has a default setting to be used as a webcam. Just make sure you plug it in and then choose "use as webcam". Doesn't even require a 1 time purchse.

If you have an android that does not have that feature, you can use the Iriun webcam software. It works over WiFi or over USB.

An Honorable mention I'd say is the Logitech Brio 300. Yes its 1080p, yes its 30fps but for most people 30fps 1080p is all you need for a webcam. It looks awesome out of the box and is a good webcam from Logitech

It's an older webcam but I really like the Lumina and it's pretty much permanently on sale. It can only do 25fps on all resolutions and the sensor is a bit dated. But if you are well versed in camera settings and have good lighting, you can do so much inside the software regarding customizing gamma curves. You just have to ignore the automatic color chart feature which is cool in theory but never really worked. This webcam gets a lot of flack because of the way it's marketed (like an easy way to get 'DSLR' like quality.) But it's actually a solid webcam for more experienced users.

Harris, I think you're out of touch for what constitutes a budget webcam. OVER $100 is not budget, both the Obsbot and Insta would be considered the low end of high-priced webcams; or maybe mid-range if you want to call it that. Budget webcams that the majority of streamers use are going to be $30-$80, maybe up to $100, especially considering the Logitech C920 is still probably one of the most used even at its age. 1080p for a facecam over gameplay is still the entry point, not 4k. Would be curious to see the full list of 50 cameras, since you mentioned it in the title but didn't say anything about it in the video. Especially curious if you've tried the Anker C310 webcam that are just as good as the Obsbot and are below $100(currently $80) for 4k, AI Auto Focus & Auto framing, 3 different FOV settings, and more.

He's said it many times in the past, if you want to spend less get a used go pro and a $20 capture card on amazon. Or better yet, if you have a good quality phone camera, use that. Webcams under $100 are mainly just targeted towards telecommunication purposes, like zoom.

This is fair. Budget means inexpensive or cheap, so calling these cameras "budget" isn't a great descriptor - likely low end of mid-range. That said, I do feel like the cameras featured do balance cost and quality well. There are a lot of cameras under $100 that are absolute garbage and/or not aimed for content creation. Budget might not be the best word but I'm not sure what to call these. Cost Effective, maybe?

@JamesDavisMakes perfectly said. There are indeed tons of garbage cheap cameras, but there are also a fair amount of perfectly acceptable to great budget options. The Anker C200 is 2k and less than $50, and the C310 is 4k for $85. Both have comparable features with the Obsbot. Logitech, Razer, and several other brands have sub $100 cameras as well

@@BlueTubee I agree to a point. Your GT 1030 is a great example but I think the Logitech C920, for instance, is a more meaningful option in comparison. I probably wouldn't buy a 1030 if I'm starting out as a PC gamer but in 2024 I'd consider a sub-$100 Logitech webcam if I'm starting out as a streamer. That said, to both of our original points, I probably wouldn't put the C920 or most of the Logitech cheaper lineup on a Best Of list. You kind of have to nudge the budget line up a bit to make it work, but you can only push it up so far. Though in the end it's just a helpful youtube video haha

I'm planning to replace my DSLR with a the Facecam Pro for my streams. Since I paint miniatures, it's really annoying to manually zoom in and out the lens plus manually adjusting the focus. With the Facecam Pro, I can just press a button on my stream deck and have it zoom like that.

Zve10. You can't match glass optics with plastic lenses. Zve10 is also not just a webcam, it's a camera for your holidays too, and takes your b-rolls and a-rolls. Even the default lens looks good with it. The colours are amazing on that thing.

Would love to see a comparison of these to the much older Sony a5100. How they compare to the sony with its stock lens, cause yeah you can buy another $500 lens for it but not everyone can afford to. Ive been using the Sony for years with the stock lens but it's only 1080 60fps. I can't afford the lens or a newer and better mirroless. For price point to quality, these are way better choices anyways, the razer kiyo ultra does not come with the best software compared to these webcams because that's razer for yea and yes the razer kiyo ultra is the highest quality webcam but its price is beyond and webcam on the market, the closest one would be the elgato facecam pro. These webcams come really good out of the box. To get the most out of the Kiyo it helps to have a good lighting setup and some camera tuning just like the Elgato Webcams mostly need tuning out of the box.

One thing you should probably mention with all WebCams is what Platforms their software runs on. For instance, I bought the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra (they really need to shorten that name) after carefully comparing it against the Elgato FaceCam Pro (almost identically priced at $300). But Razer's software to control the Kiyo Pro Ultra, Synapse3, doesn't run on Mac OS (my Platform) and Apple (for some strange reason) doesn't have a native Camera Control capability. Luckily their is a "CameraControl" app available via the "brew" download system, but the whole lack of support mess made me feel like I should have gone for the Elgato FaceCam Pro ...

Might be a hot take: Before you start buying webcams (also expensive webcams) use either your phone or save up for at least a lil budget camera with clean hdmi + cam link / some kind of capture card. See it as an investment. Having a good webcam won't bring any viewers to your streams. First, it doesn't give you exposure (this goes for every piece of gear you buy), Secondly, you spend money for something, which doesn't help you create and mostly exists to "beauty-up" existing content. I recommend to buy something, that gives you value, with what you can work with and create different stuff with. With a Webcam, you can't take portraits or landscape photos. With a webcam, you can't take it out for b-roll or vlogs. All things that are for many people key to succeed in todays content sphere. And I would argue that a Samsung A16 or Xiaomi Note 13 Phone (Entry Level) would give you better footage than most webcams that are out there these days.

USD price of going mirrorless for the lowest price and highest quality on eBay gear: (I have to not use alphanumeric numbers, because YT will auto delete my comment. I'm not selling anything. Just running the numbers. Gawd.., YT. The censorship is nuts today!) Sony a5100 (best budget mirrorless in the world) - Four hundred bucks. HDMI capture device - One hundred. Prime lens with low f stop and converter (for that narrow field of focus effect) - Hundred fifty. None of that includes little incidentals, like clamps, cables, dummy battery power supplies and shipping all of that stuff. Add, say, another two h. And that's assuming you are patient and wait for deals. Sometimes it's just more convenient to spend the extra to get what you need right away. So.., say a thousand altogether to go mirrorless. And that's all at 1080p. (Which is the top quality imho necessary. 4k is perceptually meaningless for 95% of viewers, but if you want to go that way, you can add another two or three h). And if you want good sound and lighting.., that's a whole other ball of wax! And all of that assumes, of course, you have a computer capable of running OBS and Davinci Resolve. Setting up a top grade podcast is no joke, even going for the cheapest options. So, I like these little webcam solutions. They're a good way to get your feet wet and see what it's like. -Bearing in mind that a couple of my favorite channels are just guys talking into their phones with some static screen shots.

In the world of cameras and lenses, $130 is cheap. It isn't about being out of touch or "kinda rich." Its just an objective comment on the market sector these products are in. But also I know people who don't have alot of money, and so I hooked them up with a basic mirrorless camera + captue card setup. They ended up switching to a OBSBot Tiny 2 Lite and part of the reason was because it just works. You don't need to turn the camera on or make sure its in the right clean hdmi mode or stand up and reach up to the camera to change shutter speed, exposure, white balance, or ISO on physical contorls or any of that, and that simplicity made a $100-$200 webcam for them more worth it than a $300 basic mirrorless+capture card config.
