Being an automotive technician, its pretty normal to hear ticking noise when a new engine goes into a car, its just the cams and valves that make that noise when moving in conjunction with each other,the reason you don't hear it afterwards is because the noise of the engine running, and the acoustic covers prevent those sounds from being heard. You need to prime a Coyote with external pressure. The oil pump can't prime with the starter, you just risk damaging your new bearings. You can buy a weed sprayer and pump oil into the turbo oil feed or oil pressure sensor port and it wont tick like that when you turn it over.

The clicking is the MMR timing chain tensioners making contact with the guides. I installed those same components and mine makes the same ticking every cold start. As soon as the oil pressure comes, they're fine.

i remember when my 5.0 was down for almost a year!, (blew the motor :/ ) i waited for so long to get the money to buy a new motor, and in august 2019 i finally had the money to fix it, i went to go get it once it was done and was so happy, my baby was running once again😭, i felt the emotion u described when u know your car will finally run again, i wanted to cry so bad (too many people were around so i held it in) and left the shop with MY car everything was perfect, but then only 5-6 days after having it fixed, it decided to hydroplane when it suddenly started raining hard, car went into a ditch and insurance said it was a total loss 💔💔. dont get me wrong Gavin, im super happy for you ive been waiting on this too, your videos are what even made me get a 5.0 in the first place, and your videos are what kept me a little happy after losing something i put so much money into, so i thank you, and cant wait for the future videos. much love from Minnesota 😈💪. also save the manuals ‼️‼️

Just curious... As expensive as it was, after assembling the motor, why didn’t you reduce your stress level by taking it to an engine dyno for break in and tuning. If there had been an assembly problem it would have been so much easier to find and fix.
