I really miss when places looked like that. They are so nostalgic looking, but they look so cozy. They used to have variety with their stores, now, they all look the same. Places need to being back this style...
@SetsStreetsEats Жыл бұрын
Yes, even if they are intentionally designed as throwback places that have design elements like murals and kid areas specifically designed with these pieces of nostalgia. I'm totally cool with these just still being around in some shape or form in small amounts. Just something for people to be able to visit and remember what they used to be like.

The mauve booths and tile flooring send me straight back to the early 90’s. It’s funny that those colors are making a comeback in interior design. Thanks so much for sharing!

I remember this location! I used to go for the Playplace when I was a kid. My grandmother used to take my cousins and me. Once a friend of mine had a birthday party there. Her name is Amanda. We were like seven years old. Anyway, the decor is essentially the same. Those paintings have been hanging there forever. The pin collection was always a favorite of mine. The McPizza box is there because we were a test market for it. They used to test products here all the time. They don't anymore because we're a large city now. But when I was a kid in the 90s Vegas was much smaller so we got all kinds of things. I'm a third generation Nevadan so I have heard so many stories about interesting things that don't exist anymore. At any rate, I should visit this place again. It's been a long time. I have some pretty good memories there

My GUY! As a Vegas local of over 13 years I'm embarrassed to say I've only crossed this location once! I believe once the freeway came it remained desolate bc I vaguely remember seeing this store chained up or closed. Amazing to see it stand the test of time!!
@hezekiahramirez69659 ай бұрын
You might remember the Playplace teardown. I don't remember when they took it out but I don't think they ever closed the location. And yes, it was a fairly busy Mickey's before the freeway construction. Also, shoutout from the 702

This was the best era for McDonalds. I wish these companies would focus on what worked so well back then, and go ahead back to that concept. Granted they are “making more income and profit” but think about the costs they have had to raise to offset all these changes to the buildings over and over, when this one still functions perfectly- and it’s a walk down memory lane!

It sucks how much more soulless fast food restaurants have become. They used to be special and fun places to go to, but now it seems they are more so designed just for people to grab food on a short notice and then leave. I hope one day business people will wake up and realize that most of us don’t want to eat in a gray box.

Hey Chris Bower, when you return to the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Georgia for Jim Henson's Muppets, you've got to see the Gonzo puppet from The Great Muppet Caper. It's on display until October 31st. By the way, the museum turned 45.

Great video Chris. Chris do you know why mcdonalds went pretty much completely away from the mcdonaldland characters? The only thing i know is they went away around 2003 at least from what ive heard.
@SetsStreetsEats Жыл бұрын
I don't know of an official reason. My guess is as management changed over the years they felt the company needed to grow up more and become more adult and modern and that mentality just changed along with that but it lost its magic and people like Ray Kroc and Walt Disney. Understood how to do both to evolve and keep that magic. I think modern business folks just don't quite get it.
@animatronicgoofy Жыл бұрын
@SetsStreetsEats the characters were so cool Grimace is my favorite and I wish they kept them even though companies modernize overtime.
