This week I head to Cincinnati, OH to visit the the oldest operating franchise of Skyline Chili, a staple chain in Ohio since the 1950's, enjoy!

Lived in Cincinnati my whole life, and I can confidently say that this is the best Skyline by far when it comes to taste, atmosphere, and customer service. It's followed close behind by the Kings Mills location.

Eating Skyline at the Ludlow St location in Cincinnati! I ate there many times in my UC days, I remember after the Clifton bars closed, we would head to Ludlow Skyline...to wait in line @3am in the freezing cold. I have vivid memories of looking at the steamed up windows, and the 20 minute wait. But it was so worth it. Give me a 4 way with 2 cheese coneys and I'm in heaven!

This is my favorite and the best Skyline Chili which is located in the Clifton neighborhood. Also, true Cincinnatians eat their chili-ways by cutting the spaghetti with a fork.

I love this stuff.... I would drive over to Cincinnati from Florence, KY just for Skyline. Now living in TX, we can get all the "grocery" store products which is awesome!! I'm currently back home visiting in California and not a single store within 1 hours drive has anything Skyline. As far as flavor... I find it sweet. Not oversweet, but nothing like anything in TX. It's every bit as good as TX chili but in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RESPECTFUL way... LOL

I go to skyline about 4 times or more a week lol😅😂 next time you go you should try a chilli cheese and spaghetti burritos, add sour cream if you feel like it 😊

I grew up in Cincinnati. I remember eating at some little independent chili parlor in Madeira from the time I started remembering things, 4 or 5 years old. Place is long gone. I'm in Cleveland now, thankfully there's 1 remaining Skyline 20 minutes away. It's my ultimate comfort food.

I'm a fan favorite! I mastered how to make it at home (original and a vegan option) when I lived in Chicago. Now that I'm back in Ohio, I can get anytime. I would have loved to hear more about the immigrant owner. What a genius!

Chris, go to a Ponderosa.A chain that was in our childhood. I worked for Ponderosa and Bonanza. There are a few Ponderosa’s left. No Bonanzas. I think there is one in Pennsylvania

Clifton is certainly the most iconic location but it is not the longest franchise. You have the Lambrinides location on the West Side, Bridgetown and Western Hills. Kenwood and Oakley were the first franchises. Also, for the love of God, you do not twirl the spaghetti. Classic sign of an amateur.

Having grown up in and around Cincinnati chili… my neighbors owned several Empress Chili locations and friends at school are the grandkids of both Empress and Skyline. Got my first job at Empress Chili at 12 years old. Indeed, locals know it’s eaten “cut and shovel” from end to end. Got to cut some slack to the visitors who twirl!

Stupidly, Skyline Chili shut down their original location in Price Hill just a few years ago. Most restaurants would recognize the value of their landmark #1 but not Skyline. Last I heard, they use the space as a warehouse for their t-shirts and beer coozys. 😂
