I’m from France and I had the opportunity of visiting a state called nagaland in the northeast, so much better! It’s almost as if you’re stepping in a whole new country, not being racist but even the people look different there, and the best part they’re big time meat eaters, even beef which was quite surprising considering the case in other parts of india. Also was quite stunned to learn most people are Christians there which is again a quite contrast. Reminded me of my time in thailand. I’ll honestly suggest that part of India or the south, I’ve heard it’s relatively cleaner there too

Electric bills are minimal or none at some places. Sun is not as harsh as it is in Australia. And India does have beaches, deserts, hilly terrain. Growing own veggies is one of the blessings. Government doesn't pay doles here unlike Australia which some use to buy liquor but the government here is providing them with grains instead. I sometimes feel my mental health isn't good, like I used to have symptoms of Bipolar Disorder, I've experienced a burnout! It's true that when I follow traffic rules, like I ride on bycycle and when there's red on traffic light then ppl around me start saying "Oh Kid! There's no faul on bycycle. You can go!" You can't imagine how worst place is this. Everyone here are of crab mentality and yes I want to leave this country and want to settle somewhere else.

I grew up mostly in or around Delhi, worked there for 5 years as an adult, and then moved to Switzerland for postgrad. It's like when you're accustomed to Delhi's air, the lack of pollution (especially when the difference is as dramatic as pristine alpine air versus the most polluted city in the world) feels like you're suddenly able to perceive a new colour. I could smell things more clearly. My 'yearly cough' which would last for weeks in early winter which I thought of as a seasonal bug, is no longer a thing because turns out it was my body struggling to accommodate the peak in air pollution in Delhi in early November. My stamina has dramatically shot up, and my eyes no longer feel scratchy during commutes. I don't have to dust anywhere near as much, because Delhi air is so full of dust you'll find surfaces covered in a thin film of it the very next day. Heck, one day it was foggy in Geneva, and from my tenth floor workplace I could see that visibility had greatly reduced and I could no longer see the lake that the city straddles - I started feeling nauseous - holding my stomach, sitting still nauseous. I realised later that it was literally just my mind reacting viscerally to an association I'd subconsciously started to make living in Delhi - 'fog=poison death cloud, SHELTER IN PLACE'. All of this is despite the fact that as a finance lawyer, I always lived in a shielded little bubble; working desk jobs in climate-controlled spaces in the city's less densely packed neighbourhoods, rather than being out on the street all day as so many people must for their sheer livelihood. I hate-love Delhi, and I really wish things improve within my lifetime. But as of now I will BEND. OVER. BACKWARDS to get to live and work anywhere else.

Delhi is insiane. As an Indian i'd like to say 95 percent Indians lacks civic sense that includes our top leaders and the remaining 5 percent suffers. Littering is so common here and education system is so messed that is is al based on cramming and getting jobs. NO civic education what so ever eventhough that should be the most necessary component of this country. Nationalism is so strong that people blindly thinks that India is the best place to live and they wanna keep living in the mess and without making any effort towards any improvement. Government is there to bully the poor and help their crony capitalists friends. Thankfully I am leaving this messy city.

Civic sense is a combination of awareness and consideration for the norms of society. It includes behaviors, attitudes, and values that reflect respect, empathy, and cooperation. People with a strong civic sense recognize their role as active contributors to the well-being of their communities. Here are some examples of civic behaviors: Respecting the law Respecting the privacy or freedom of others Maintaining etiquette Keeping public spaces clean Obeying traffic rules Practicing good manners Respecting diverse viewpoints Civic sense is important for quality of life and building a country's reputation. It can be cultivated through education, setting good examples, spreading awareness, rewarding good practices, and enforcing punitive actions against law violations.

It's imperative to mention that you guys use the term "India" way too casually, mainly down to media showing only Delhi or Mumbai and other few cities, that make just a combined 5-10% of India at max. Google Kashmir, Uttarakhand or Himachal valleys or Kerala backwaters and there are 1000s of green and peaceful villages that would look heavenly. Imagine visiting San Francisco or NY downtown and labelling the whole US to be filled with homeless folks that are crooked on fentanyl.

Most of the comments are just associating whole India with just a single state that isn't even 1500km compared to whole size of India that is 3 million km. I myself despise the pollution of Delhi and criticize it but states that are far away from delhi are just pleasure to the senses.

Tokyo more polluted than New York no way
@Ricky911_
@Ricky911_ Ай бұрын
If you look at the chart, the numbers are pretty similar. That difference is not massive. Remember that Tokyo is still a metro that is bigger than New York. Despite being a big polluter, the US's air quality is actually very good. It's mostly due to having a low density, lots of forested land and regulations that filter out pollutants like carbon monoxide, sulphates, nitrates. The CO2 in the atmosphere could double and it still wouldn't be a problem. Contrary to common beliefs, CO2 does not affect air quality. Japan does, however, have a problem with pollution from China. Smog in Kyushu (Westernmost major island) from China isn't too uncommon. Tokyo is further East but, the pollution can still be felt to some extent
