@@adeiibeas5265 i am from Warsaw but my grandpa is basque and came here from san sebastian with his family. They were opressed by Franco during the civil war. No one teached me euskera or spanish but I leart spanish and i'm going to learn euksera to and I will be proud of my basque heritage💪

I'd guess that Basque Country is one of the most interesting places within Europe regarding its unique language, its people and its culture. I definitely have some sympathies for both clubs, both are amazing and I like the fact that there is no remarkable hate or even violence on derby days. Fans from both sides are even coming together occasionally, just a bit like Everton vs Liverpool in England. But from my point of view it's a bit sad that the old San Mamés in Bilbao is history. Yes, it may have been ramshackle, but its unique character was definitely worth a renovation instead of a complete replacement. It has been such a classic and lovely stadium spreading so much charme with its squareness and its steep stands. The new San Mamés opened in 2013 just looks like another Benfica, Emirates or Wanda Metropolitano clone, so I wouldn't really call it a 'cathedral' anymore like the people in Bilbao did while talking about the old San Mamés. Real Sociedad's home Anoeta has improved due to the replacement though as the older version has just been a giant bowl made of concrete in the early 90s. So impressive to see the whole stadium bouncing!

Many people hate on this derby because fans don't k*ll each other, but as an Athletic Bilbao fan, I feel proud of our derby and its unique and special brotherhood atmosphere.
