I love walking and exploring the place where I live, seeing what changes and trying to find unique things even though I’ve been doing it for decades. There’s nothing better than finding joy close to home :) Also this video is just another reminder of how gorgeous our lil Victorian state really is. Can’t wait to see more adventure from around it :):)

Absolutely gorgeous and the places you shared with us are beautiful too. 😉 The locations that are near you look so peaceful and full of life. What made you move to that area? Thank you for sharing.

Haha just the energy I needed this morning! Hello from the Netherlands! I’ve also planned a trip around my area this weekend instead of reaching far and while whenever I plan something 🙈

5:52 if they were that size... you would need to more then just run. Nice was at Mount Granya before heading to Yarrangobilly Caves a bit ago.

The elusive lyrebird! On my old haunts around The Dandenong Ranges National Park, I once saw 11 lyrebirds within 20m of walking track. The strange thing about them is that 90% of their population is male. So I could have stumbled upon a stag-do.
@settohikeСағат бұрын
Haha very elusive for you that day!! Stag-do, cult meeting, army enlisting, footy training what else could they have been up to?

Great work! I once tried to walk every street in the small town I was living in. I planned my routes, walked every weekend, met lots of people and even after a year I still hadn't finished. No pelicans but got smacked in the head by a magpie. With respect to potatoes, I learnt today there is enough uranium in 64 trillion spuds to make an atomic bomb. I ate two tonight so I'm well on the way. Just thought you should know.

Yay, another vid😃 Loved the sky pelican! Mega-stressed for you re log arachnids and picnic table arachnids and OMGness, the log cabin ended me! Hopefully none caught on camera this time!🤪
@settohike3 сағат бұрын
Hahah!! I will have to consider your stress levels next time i'm filming a video. 😂 I didn't think about our arachnid friends once, I was thinking about snakes though, but can report didn't see either!

You've moved to one of my favourite parts of Victoria, although I tend to go through that area on a motorbike. Also, just saying, go Blue Baggers.

When I saw the title, I thought you'd be walking in populated areas and meeting the locals. Should've known better, I suppose. 😊
@settohike3 сағат бұрын
haha that concept would of worked! I feel like i'd need a cameraman for that, i'd still be setting up the camera in the time they've walked past 😛

I’ve taken huge inspiration from beau miles about finding adventure in your own backyard, this has resulted in me taking many 10km hikes around where I live, kayaking a couple of our creeks and rivers, and maybe but not confirming if I have, possibly low impact camping trips in the bush around where I live, so many people I know will travel thousands of kilometres away just to walk around not never visit again, but also never visit the places they live in.
@settohike4 сағат бұрын
@@JJamahJamerson It sounds like you are right on top of this notion! It also always surprises me how many Australians have not been to every state in Australia. I wish you more fun on your local adventures 😊

Your videography style is reminiscent of Beau Miles.
@settohikeСағат бұрын
For the longest time I thought Beau Miles was Kraig Adams, and got really confused when a video popped up that was not 'silent hiking style' I realised Beau Miles was an entire other person 😂
