Nice trip man, Wish I had some views like that where I live. I attempted a similar mission about a month ago. But a few hours before sundown I realized that I probably shouldn't go any further because if I keep going for the rest of the day there is no way I'll be able to walk that extra distance back. I also realized that I could probably make it back if I hurried, so that's what I did. I made it back home at sundown, but It was pretty rough altogether. It was a spontaneous sorta thing, I didn't plan it, I just grabbed a bag, blade,firesteel, a blanket, a 3liter jug of water, 3 bananas, 3 granola bars and left. Whole trip was about 9-10 hours, and I ended up hiking at least 35 miles, on sandy trails with some hills but nothing like the ones you crossed xD. Ate all the food and half the water by the end of it. Ended up puking from exertion for the first time after I got back, had some huge blisters and my legs were pretty much useless for a few days. But hey, did my first marathon on accident, and it was pretty fun, had some wicked dreams that night too. So all in all a pretty good experience.
