For your throat: Hot, but not too hot drink of choice Honey (not the doggo lol) & Lemon. For Pandy’s nails: There are “no bite” polishes to help dissuade it. As well as the nail strengthening polishes that make it harder to successfully bite them. Both nail biting & picking, and picking at the skin around the nails are actually incredibly common ADHD / ND self soothing “stims”. There’s a solid chance that he may not realize that he’s even doing it until it’s too late, or pointed out to him. Gentle redirection when you notice him doing it will also make him aware of it. I’d personally suggest offering a couple different small fidgets that can be used to keep his hands busy with something else while that urge is there. These obviously aren’t OSFA solutions (and is being written while this ADHD human is ≈1/3 asleep haha) and are sheerly suggestions based on my own experiences. Ultimately, you two have to work together to figure out what will work best. I know you’ll get there 🙂

As a figure skating coach I can’t stress enough how important a helmet is. One fall can be fatal ❤
@fungirl11216 күн бұрын
Totally agree with having a helmet while ice skating!! Probably like 8-10 years ago I went ice skating with a friend for his bday, he fell and bounced his head off the ice and ended up with a concussion. It was super scary he didn’t remember falling!
@mcrchickenluvr6 күн бұрын
Helmets can actually make concussions worse on a solid surface like that.
@VictoriaKellySwartz6 күн бұрын
@mcrchickenluvr 🤔 Helmets won't prevent concussios. But helmets can reduce the severity and duration of concussion symptoms.

Yes, get a thick/ wide straw (if you don’t have one then a normal straw works okay) fill half a glass with water and blow bubbles into it for a few hours (keep changing the water out over time) this massages your vocal cords. A lot of artists/ actors do this before and after performances

XD not even freaking out over your child with a sharp implement in their hand cutting their own hair. Respect. If there’s water on ice, Don’t skate on it!! It’s way too dangerous, why didn’t they shut that down? Side note, if you want to cut the front pieces of hair, take the hair and angle it to the opposite side of the face and cut at an angle 📐 downward. Brad Mondo for the win. Also, there’s a nail polish that is perfect for nail biters. A friend used it cause she always bit her nails and it got her to stop.

Jess I’m sorry you lost your voice I know how you feel. Last year I lost my voice for the first time ever in my life. So I’m a singer and I got sick I thought I felt better but it turns out I didn’t so I sang thinking I was all better then ended up loosing my voice for two weeks!!!! It was at the worst time because I needed to get record my Christmas cover but couldn’t, it was pure torture because singing is my life, it’s the only thing I’m good at, so without it I felt hopeless! So now whenever I’m sick I don’t sing until the sickness has completely passed I have learned my lesson. I don’t get sick often. I just remember when I decided to try to sing after two weeks I sang “true that he’s no Prince Charming, but there’s something in him that I simply didn’t see.” And I remember that it was the best I have ever sang it before and it was just an amazing feeling, now I take care of my voice. Moral of the story your voice will get better just give it time to heal don’t force it

14:11 bitter tasting nail polish!! And spinner rings/ fidgets. For me it’s a sensory thing and redirecting myself with a fidget helps. Also sunflower seeds because it replicates the hand to mouth movement Edit to add: sometimes I don’t even consciously realize I’m biting my nails until they bleed like Landon’s. It’s so weird it’s like I space out sometimes. I’ve been working on mindfulness activities like puzzles, paint by number and just trying to be more in the now instead of in my head if that makes sense. I hope all of these tips combined can help!

Jess they make a type of nail polish that has a bitter taste if you try to bite your nails. Wal-Mart used to have it. Amazon and Sally's Beauty supply might also have it. Try hot tea with honey . The Republic of Tea has a throat coat tea that helps. You can also try using throat drops like Ricola. I lost my voice completely when I was working in an elementary school while finishing up my teaching degree during the part called blocking. It took forever to get it back. My vocal cords were badly damaged during a 10hour surgery that was2 spinal surgeries done back to back as a result of life threatening complications during and after the surgery I was hospitalized for a month and couldn't speak above a very quiet whisper for almost a year. It will never go back to how it was before which sucks because I can no longer sing, which I loved to do. My voice goes out all the time which is annoying a royal pain. Both my airway and esophagus were also severely damaged which made swallowing and eating anything that wasn't soft or liquid extremely difficult and I frequently got choked and still do. Your voice will come back you need to rest it as much as possible.
