What a memory! I first remember seeing this commercial when I was 4 or 5. I went around the house screaming "I WANT MY MAYPO"! Drove my parents nuts, I think. So, one morning, my dad surprised me with a box of MAYPO. We sat together at the kitchen table, and he prepared it for me. He let me have a spoonful and to the day he died, he would tease me about the look that came over my face that morning. IT WAS AWFUL STUFF! Will never forget it! I'll bet dad is still laughing in Heaven to this day. Thanks for the memories, dad!

When MTV first started in the 1980's they tried to push the "I want my MTV" because the early viewers of MTV (boomers) might remember the Maypo commercials.

As for the Signature Edition version, Brad got what he wanted by using the opening of the Disneyland Anthology Show. Specifically, by showcasing the Tomorrowland announcement. And it's no surprise that he released his movie Tomorrowland the same year as the Signature Edition of The Iron Giant in 2015. And in that film, in one store, you can spot retro Iron Giant merchandise. Can you believe all that?

i really loved these commercials. and every once in a while i’ll think about it, just like Tiny the tiger 🐯 :). thanks a whole bunch. (tried Maypo, but didn’t like it. my oatmeal was always made with milk - maybe that made a difference cause i really liked it :) 🍜🥛🍓
