Gabriel slayed this performance. He sings it in the same key as Mariah and his whistles are pretty much the same as hers. He added more but it's pretty much the same Mariah can do very high and complex whistle notes and Gabriel executed them very well

I just loved your faces when Gabriel hit his highest whistle 😂… I cry every time I hear it. It simply twists your brain, doesn’t it? And no, Mariah doesn’t whistle even close to him. Plus her whistle seems insulated and filtered. Gabriel’s is as crispy and metallic as can be. Last, he seasons old songs in a way that surprises, and possibly is better. He makes them his own. Pure genius!

As one of Gabriel's BIGGEST fans, I'm not here to argue, just disagree. That performance, that rendition, was a total mess. If he took THAT into a recording studio as it was presented on Shadow it would be roundly rejected for the multi-point failure that amazes even me.
