I think he decidet to take it more seriously after so many views and voice teachers/coaches reactions. And as songs in english are more interesting for foreigners to react maybe he realized it was a good Idea inproving his english.

Gabriel is BRILLIANT! He is one of the only artists that does Justice to Mariah when he covers her! It resembled her version in all aspects especially runs and transitions and whistles and it was so respectful!

There's no thing such as "REAL English accent that is required for a song like this". That commennt could only come from a British or American person. The guy is amazing and I'm sure you could perfectly understand every verse he sang. The majority of English speakers are non-native, so native people must start rethinking linguistic ideologies that only benefit themselves.

Gabriel is a Brazilian gospel singer one of the best I've ever seen in my life. He doesn't speak anything in English. He's trying harder and harder to pronounce the words correctly and has done a good job. And he's self-taught never did a singing class, is pure gift of God.

That D7 whistle note is not only the highest whistle note Gabe has performed to date, he confesses it was the hardest one to execute. This cover is based on a Mariah live appearance on a televised program cut abruptly due to time constraints. Other than sheer praise, I have suggested to Gabe for a longer version with a nice fade-out. Record it, airplay it, and reap the rewards. Great reaction. Gabriel uses reverb etc on his mics to enhance his vocals... Definitely doesn't need it, but I am sure Mariah or Whitney did the same when they were recording. He has some amazing live performances on his KZbin channel from a singing competition he was in (similar to The Voice). Did you know Jennifer Hudson and Tori Kelly commented on one of his Tik Tok posts?

although it seems to be a dubbing of himself the only thing that was done in this audio was a treatment with effects and plugins but the originality of the recording is what we see there. what can be happening are milliseconds of video delay that does not interfere at all for the uninitiated.

Just one question: Are you able to learn to speak the Portuguese language and speak without an accent? Think about it, ok. I like to hear what you have best, when it comes to analyzing vocal techniques and the personal improvement of the human being. Remembering that Gabriel Henrique is a singer who has been developing his skills since childhood and alone, so far he has never had a singing lesson or had a vocal coach, let's say this boy was born blessed by God. Everything you see in Gabriel Henrique's videos is natural, I read that he does not use AutoTune and if you think he is dubbing his own voice, what is the problem? We recently saw Adel's video, tell me if she is not dubbing her own voice? So let's really be honest here. Life is much better than when we don't get attached to details that waste our time. MARIAH gave life to this song originally recorded by the band FOREIGNER… this song was very successful in Brazil, was the theme of a soap opera and was much more successful than the original version… You have to see MARIAH CAREY LIVE at OPRAH, in a special presentation, in Central Park, singing this song: Gabriel was based a lot on her performance, but MARIAH's whistle at the end is unbelievable, and it's even longer...so much that it leaves EVERYONE awestruck!!! 😉
