I had a similar experience and only just now feel like I'm on "the right track", still have to deal with occasionally explaining to people I don't need a "Degree" for art, in a way covid helped with all the great online classes available now, congratz for getting past that hurdle and good luck with your journey.

This hits really close to home! I kinda gave up on my art pursuits during the middle of high school, and went straight into a bachelor of Computer Science. I tried to do that for 2 years, and I hated it so much. I did it because I thought that was the "smart" thing to do. I decided I couldn't keep doing it anymore, and switched into a bachelor of Animation at the start of this year. Even right before my animation degree was about to start, I was stressing myself out trying to fight between Animation or quickly changing into Graphic Design purely based on that "right thing to do" mindset. But I didn't end up changing. I stayed in the Animation degree, I just finished my first year, and I couldn't be happier. It has been some of the best time in my life, I'm actually going into classes instead of staying home with anxiety, and I'm actually making friends with likeminded people.

I just found your channel and I am so unbelievably thankful. I am currently in a pretty similar situation right now I am at a 4 yr university, fortunately my university has a program for animation/game dev/ ux design all smashed into one but I found the classes a tad bit lacking (I want to go into concept art vis dev and there’s like zero foundation classes…). So I wanted to see if schoolism was helpful and thats how I found you. Haha tmr I am gonna go buy schoolism and hopefully learn a bit more during this last month of summer before I head back to college. I subscribed to your channel and lowkey your inspiring me to make a channel too… anyways tysm for posting Bc the amount of relief I got that someone is also in a similar position of just trying to learn online is very comforting ❤️. Oh wow! I started this channel to practice storyboarding/to record my journey since I felt a little isolated in my own situation- I'm so glad that it's helping and inspiring you!
