The preachers from the chapels around the welsh village i grew up in worked by installing THE FEAR OF GOD into you, them welsh ministers were scary people, made me grow up an atheist. Darn theey were scary men!

My family decided to join the ranks of "speaking in tongues". They would wiggle and shake all over the place, and start speaking gibberish. Scared me to death, so I refused to go to church. 😒 Every other church I went to, the women would judge you for what you were wearing, which is stupid. Nobody goes to church for fashion.

@@jeanlarge4050 I stand corrected lol

@@Juliemdster I have seen that in chapels in the states, people work themselves up into a 'high' and start to almost convulse, you would swear someone had dumped some nerve gas in there! But as for fashion, them Welsh preachers would scold anyone who was waiting 'Garb' only black or grey suits for men and a pleated ankle length skirt and a white blouse WITH a cardigan or plain jacket to cover up there 'feminine temptations ' from the men. And this was in the seventies.

Sounds like someone REALLY likes Edgar Allen Poe's story: "The Fall of the House of Usher." :)

My experiences most preacher's are evil 😈 that's one reason I don't go to church

I have to agree. I font need to sit in church on a Sunday to prove MY faith

That’s why we’re supposed to follow God…not man. The older I get, the harder it is to find a church. May have to do with living in a small town…knowing everyone’s dirty laundry? 😞

I am very thankful that has not been my experience. Preachers are just as likely to fall to temptation as anyone else. Doesn't make them evil, makes them human. My issue with all institutions is the propensity to cover up pervasive immortality and criminality that puts others, especially the young and vulnerable, at risk.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGm7mZ-lqKqZhZI This is Dr Miles Monroe, he's dead now but most of his videos on youtube are pretty timeless, his words make more sense than most churches. mostly due to his unique perspective and ability to explain topics. If you'd like a non evil man to explain the bible this'd be my vote. That said, I believe there are decent churches in the world with moral congregations, they are harder to find but it's worth searching for. There are lost churches, and those are best avoided, they are simply fallible people choosing not to be better, I'm sorry they exist.

One thing this case has that lots of em don't is an actual crime apparently. I am not a lawyer but i don't want to give law enforcement rights for them to abuse. I understand the curtelage argument and that sucks because this time im on the fence and leaning towards law enforcement. Its not 4 am and we pulled him over he was colored so we maced him and roughed him up; they are there for a real crime not anonymous tip. The police seemed professional didnt curse etc. but did dare or taunt maybe a de-escalation tactic would have been better? Oops it was the previous story in my list sorry I'm a dummy
