Imagine being so excited to have your father back in your life, only to discover through repeated atrocities just what type of person he is. Not to mention the guilt this person made you feel when he was clearly the perpetrator. I hope it goes without saying that none of this was your fault. I wish you happiness and peace. You are a remarkable human. ♥️

Common - she didn’t notice for 5 years - that’s not a flex - and only noticed cause she saw a text message .. if he didn’t send that message mum would still be oblivious Not saying it’s her fault but she’s far from observant if she didn’t notice any behaviour issues for 5 years 😮

My father got exactky the same sentence. 12 years. But he pleaded not guilty so i had to give evidence over 2 days. This destroyed me. I never got over it. But despite the fact he never admitted guilt, he was still allowed out of jail after 4 years. He moved back to my town and i just saw him one day in wh smith. It was the most traumatic moment. I just ran. The only reteibution in my story is that he died 7 weeks later. A massive heart attack. He had named me as next of kin. The council tried to force me to clean his flat and pay for his funeral. I absolutely refused. There was jsut no way i was puttint my family into debt for this man and i didnt want to touch his stuff. Someone told me he had taken in a cat who was wandering the streets since he died. We went and found the cat. We loved the cat dearly and she spent the rest of her life with us and died aged 17 with her family all around her. But him, he had a pauper council funeral that no one attended. I dont even know whether he was buried or cremated and i dont care. Survivors have very little justice in this country. The court system is a joke and very traumatic for victims.

Are there not laws that give harsher charges for when someone with hiv or other life altering conditions, knowingly ‘sleeps‘ with someone and doesn’t inform them or sa’s someone because it can be a d*ath sentence, or are those not in the UK? I know that there are laws like that somewhere, but I would have thought that when those laws were first introduced, that most nations would have at least started the process of adding them into their system! However, either way, after what he did he never should have been released!!!!!

It almost sounds like she wishes he had not been reported. Something is off here. As a 14 year old, there is no way I would have ever let my dad touch me in a sexual way. I would have told immediately if he had tried anything. She says they had sexual intercourse many times. Why? Why would you keep going back over to his place as a 14, 15, 16 year old when by then, you knew what was coming, time and time again.

You clearly weren't listening he was grooming her for years before he started touching her that type of systemic manipulation breaks down a person's self worth, identity and boundaries that coupled with extreme fear and shame and the fact she was still a child and you are unclear as to why she didn't speak up? Wow you really are ignorant, way to victim blame.

@ she wasn’t child enough to know it was very wrong the first time it happened. He reinforcing that by apologizing profusely…I’m a monster, etc. even at 14 I never ever would have gone back to that. The whole father thing was new to her. She had a stable life at her mother’s. She didn’t have to go back.
