This is a C&P word for word of a post by David Greco. Who for years has been responsible for handling physics in the F1 games. F1 23 was his last as he’s left Codies. Wings: quite high in general, more = fastest lap times. Balance it for good top speed and ers efficiency in race, but the more you can use, better it is. Also the more downforce you use, bigger can be the difference between front and rear wing (more front +1 to +7) . Differential, 65 to 50 on power and 55 to 50 off throttle. Just helps car's rotation. Geometry, the more camber, more is the stability but less reactive. I like to use from centre to more negative camber, every time. Less camber I feel it gives too much instability. Toe, is similar feeling to camber, but here you do need as much rotation and reactivity as possible, so I go from centre to low, both front and rear. Also less toe helps a little on top speed and tyre temps. Suspension Here is the biggest changes but follows similar pattern to 22 for springs and arb. Low front as it gives maximum downforce and stiff, very stiff suspension. The more fast corners with high load on suspension and tyres, the stiffer you have to go. Front ride height anything from 30 to max 33, depending on high load corners and bumps on track. The rear is quite the opposite, you want it quite higher and very soft. High to make it rotate under braking, soft to squat and get traction on acceleration and also to "stall" the downforce at the rear at high speed corners so makes the car rotate more. Brakes, 53 to 58 depending on corner, fuel, tyre wear and so on. Tyre pressure, as low as possible where you need a lot of mechanical grip, higher when you need more stability and grip at high load (downforce). Less tyre pressure = Less tyre wear, less tyre heating, more traction, less high speed performance and less top speed. More tyre pressure = more tyre wear and heating as consequence of more pressure on a smaller surface and therefore more sliding of the tyre surface. But gives more performance at high load/downforce and more top speed. Hope the direction is clear

Alex great video! I have a quick suggestion for content in relation to this video and these setups. So when I play career mode, I try and match what I'm doing setup wise as closely to real F1 as I can to make it more realistic, so what I do is search for each circuit and what Pirelli says for min pressure and max camber so for Suzuka, that would be 25.0 psi front/23.0 psi rear with a max front camber of -2.75 and rear at -1.50. So my question is, could you do an experiment and see what the differences are between the setups you guys run vs what Pirelli say to run because the two types of setups are vastly different.

aggressive defending from ben but doesnt mention the very aggressive diving from himself.

Aggressive defending from Ben? Usually I'm in your corner when it comes to altercations with Ben, but you spun him out by being desperate

I agree but i dont think he was on about the final move which caused the crash. My guess is alex was on about all the last few laps where they both defended & attacked hard

Hey Alex, first off great video but second I wanted to ask if you would maybe consider doing a race setup video series for all the tracks in a similar style to this video? I think that would be really helpful to someone like me who struggles with making setups and you're really good at breaking down these complicated seeming ideas. Love you, keep doing what you're doing. Also I love every time you and Ben come together on track, it's always entertaining

Well I think in this video the meta for setups seems to be relatively clear, you run the stiffest front suspension and minimum rear anti roll bar and mostly tweak the car with wings, ride height plus rear suspension and front anti roll bar.

Even in career your setups require tweaking from season to season as you develop the car and your driving gets better.

Shortly after game launches David Greco posted a reply on a setup thread on EA answers. Given pointers on setup direction. I’ll have a quick look to see what the thread is called. On. F1 23 general discussion board. Think it’s sim racing setups. I mention it because he says front ride height no higher than 33. Very firm front suspension and high front wring by as much as 10

Definitely learned a bit about what certain settings do. I'm trying to reach success at higher difficulties in career mode and this will definitely help. I never correlated throttle adjustments to steering before.

I know I am no one and probably wrong but can you please and compare tyre wear? I am mean if you win. 3s but worst tyre were to give you an extra pit stop...
